Endometrial Hyperplasia

Ok I have been on the edge of my seat for about a little over a month because I was told that I had a thickening of the endometrial lining in my uterus might be because of cancerous cell in my lining. A little history about my obgyn health. about a yr ago I underwent a process to cut out the dysplasia in my cervix. I can't remember the name of the procedure at this point but it was the freezing of cell and then removing them it was a thing that looked like a cheese slicer and was hookd to electricity and I literally was grounded. It was scary but hey I was numbed pretty good. After that I went every 3 months for a pap smear eventually I got to go every 6 months. yeah then this So I was terrified that it went somewhere else. So I had to go and get a biopsy of my endometrial lining. I can say that I had it done over a week ago and that I have the results that say that my lining thickened not due to cancerous cells yeah!!! Less stress or so I thought. Well with the thickened endometrial lining we have to remove it now and see what happens if it comes back or if after treatment my lining returns to normal. So now I have to wait and talk to the doctors to see if I go for a surgical D&C or if I get the D&C throught the shot method. More stress Yeah. I don't want to go under but if I take the shot I'll shed my whole lining in ten days. So now I'm happy that I don't have cancerous cells but I'm scared of going through the D&C procedures. here is an article about what I have and the solutions. http://althysterectomy.org/endohyper.htm So my question to you out there is have you ever had to go through this? If so , what should I expect? (I will be asking the doctor but I want to know what personal story you have out there to make it more real than just doctor talk) If no, have you ever heard of this and how do you feel about this knowledge?

I haven't been through this but I did go through ovarian cancer and came out like a champ without any of that inside stuff causing any more problems. I hope all goes well for you. :)

It sounds as though you have been to he11 and back bella and that you still have more stress to get through! I am glad that the results were good news and I wish I could give you some more advice about what to expect but I haven't been through this before! I am however sending you my love and prayers! xxx

Well I have to go to my follow up appointment yet and I'm sure she'll explain things to me but I also wanted some personal experiences because sometimes you don't get the whole thing from doctors because they can tell you what is supposed to happen and how you should feel and what should happen afterward but its always better to get some first hand experiences if possible to see what I might be in for.

Hi bella. Well I've had D&C's for various reasons and came through ok. They are such standard little ops and you are out for the duration. The problem is the soreness and pain afterwards. And with all your other pain issues, I think that in your shoes, I would go for the shot instead.

It's the pain management afterwards that I'm worried about for you bella. I know the other route is messy, but at least you'll be able to function better. Stock up on *ladies diapers* though! LOL
