what does the stars refers to?

a twinkling dollar - a way of improving the earnings here in mylot.

in some name there are stars with corresponding numbers from 1-10 i guess. what does it mean? and in ranking how does it affects your earnings?can someone help me about it?

You get your first star when you reach 100 posts. The number inside the star is your reputation rank. This will increase as other people rate your responses. I don't know how it affects your earnings except that when you get a higher number it indicates that you are writing good responses because people are giving you a positive rating, and MyLot pays more for good quality responses.
