I have lived in melbourne all my life and yet I had never been to Luna Park, until last weekend, a friend asked me to go along with him and his family, it was an experience, I didn't have the courage to go on the rides as i thought maybe i would bring up the big lunch I had just had, that came to me after seeing some of the attendants cleaning up after someoone...ooooh what a job.....but i did go on the ferris wheel so I could take some photos from the top, I thought the views were stunning, it was a great day, I would suggest a day there for any family..but is expensive which is a bit of a shame I think....

Holy moly...I was able to look up Luna Park and tickets for two people are over $100 a day..yeesh...kind of looked around the website...did you go to the Laura Croft Tomb Raider thing...that would be up my alley..hehe
Glad you had a good time--you ARE a bit daring though..I don't even think I could stomach the ferris wheel--chicken that I am

we have la ronde here in montreal, for a day at the amusement park for a family of 3 kids and two adults expect to pay over 100 dollars.
It is crazy expensive for rides and food etc,
but you can by a season pass which is a lot cheaper that way.

Having lived in Melbourne and now not far from it I have never been to Luna Park. In my younger days rides were never an issue and went on most of them at the Melbourne show, a few I would give a miss to, but even the ferris wheel was not bad. NOW things have changed and getting on a ferris wheel is not so easy, although I did go on the one at Federation square a few years ago and that was a small one but still was not comfortable about it! Such a shame as you can see so much if you keep your eyes open! lol
The cost for such fun now is a little too much especially just to get through the gate to start with.

i have not been to the melbourne luna park, but as a child i always went to the sydney luna park and had a good time.i have not been here since the fires years ago,but i want to take my son.i know it is expensive but i think they can get a all day pass for about $40.00 now, which beats going to the royal easter show.cheers sue
