My digital watches don't work

I have a digital watch and about 6 months after buying it it stopped working, it was a cheap watch that i wear for work, it gets banged up so i don't buy expensive ones. being that it was so cheap i figured i would replace the watch and not just the battery, but this time i get an upgrade to a not-as-cheap watch. i didn't throw the original one away though i don't know why. i started wearing the new one and noticed the old one started working again. about a month into wearing the new one it stopped keeping time, i would lose an hour hear or there, gain a few minutes, i never really knew what time it was for real....lol so i figured the first watch is working again, i'll try that one again. i put it on and now every day or so i lose 15 minutes then it shuts off altogether then its right. it seems very strange, i've been buying those cheapo watches for a while now and never had issues like this. my mother says my body chemistry can screw up the way a digital watch works, is this true? it sounds like a crock to me.

I don't know about that body chemistry thing. May be an old wives tale.As for watches I don't wear one anymore. I keep my cell phone near by. Technology rearing its head again.
