Does any one know real, logical reasons that stadiums and arenas are built in certain cities and not others? Meaning, why are there stadiums in some cities, but not in others that are just as big, or just as wealthy??? If you know, I would love some kind of paper/article/book that backs up your reasons. I have to write a paper, and I have no idea on how to get this information, or where to even begin to look. Thank you in advance for any help!

I can't help with an answer but I have often wondered about this myself. Also why some cities have baseball, football, hockey and basketball etc. and not all of them or at least each state? I will be curious to see someone give an answer. Great discussion, Brightest Blessings, Mari

So the question still remains: Profiles for cities with arenas/stadiums - Why do some large cities have stadiums/arenas and some don't? Hopefully someone can answer this for us Mari

I have no idea. I think it just has to do with whether or not that city thinks they need one built for their economy or social reasons.
