A lot of people say that drinking colas makes you fat and diabetic. I love drinking coke but my cousin has some signs of being diabetic at a very young age beacuse of her addiction to coke. The doctor said one of the causes was too much intake of colas. Do colas really cause that?

I don't think drinking colas alone would cause someone to be diabetic otherwise saying someone has a sweet tooth is a sure sign that said person is or will be diabetic. I believe though that if someone already has diabetes in his/her family history, that drinking a lot of coke or taking in as lot of sweets can cause the diabetes to manifest itself. The sugar in the coke or in any other sweet food does not cause the diabetes but can induce the diabetes that is dormant n your body. I guess a doctor can say it in more medical terms but all I'm trying to say is that drinking coke in excessive quantities can induce diabetes but does not cause you to have diabetes if it is not in your genetic makeup

I would imagine that it's the sugar in Coke that would cause the problem, so you could drink Coke Zero or Diet Coke instead, which are sugar free. Of course, they do contain aspartame.

Taking artificial drinks are not good for your body. The chemicals inside these drinks are very dangerous.I also like coco cola, but i drink it some times only.It is better to take natural drinks like coconut water or lemon juice.
