Consider the belly button.

This is meant to be a frivolous discussion. However, if you have any serious issues about your navel, feel free to expose them here because the folk here are wonderfully kind and considerate.
I had an umbilical hernia when I was 2. I reckon this was because I cried....a lot. Poor me as a baby. I cried so much I gave myself a hernia and pushed out my belly button. They cut me open and stitched it back in but now it is ugly...neither an inny or an outy and I have a scar as well...yes, still.
What are you? Does your belly button stick out? Are you an outy? Or, does your belly button sit happily inside it's folds, looking cute and sexy? Are you an inny or an outy?
As if that is not enough...what colour is your belly button fluff...if you have any. Mine is usually a bluey grey if I have any but it depends on what I'm wearing. I usually dont have any. There isn't any room for much and it's pretty tight in there.
Do you wear jewellery in your navel? Please tell us what it is and include a photo if you can.

The title of this post was enough to make me laugh sweetheart! I have an inny and I don't get fluff although I do get crumbs! I think the crumbs are from toast although I have never tasted it to make sure! I used to have a belly button ring but that was in my thinner days and I definitely wouldn't take a picture of it now! lol xx

This has got to be a first, a discussion about the belly button, hehe. I have an inny, I can stick my pinky finger in it up to the first knuckle. No I do not have it pierced and have no plans on having it pierced. I also don't have any pictures or want any pictures. When I was a kid, there was this little boy, his nick name was dinky. I think it was because his belly button stuck out like a "dinky" weiner. It stuck straight out a few inches. Poor kid, I wonder if he ever got that fixed.

well, mines an inny. but not cute and sexy. its like a deep hole, and has a few scars from laparoscopies. fluff really depends on whats been worn. no jewellery. not into that. (probably a bit old. haha) but my daughter is at me all the time to get hers pierced. only a few minutes ago in fact she was on about it again.
best wishes to you, tickle, and take care

Read some of the answers here Kay. It can be so dangerous to have a belly button piercing. Tell your girls to think of ome thing else becaue any piercing except ears ain't gonna happen. Just be firm and jokey. My girls both got tattoos and that was as bad health wise.

Well, I have a inny and although you think inny may be cute in sexy in the folds I happen to be overweight and my belly botton is far from being sexy even if I wished it was. No, no jewelry I don't think I could stand the pain of getting one or having it get yanked and pulled by clothing and other things it might get caught on. I see what my nieces go through nd glad that even though I once wanted one, I never got one. Now that is one want that would have hurt me.

I know about tongue piercings since my sister, her husband and my niece and her husband all decided to get it done. I couldn't understand a word they said for the first 3 weeks and they really had problems with it and after 12 weeks they gave up and took them out.. They no longer have them..Money wasted. My niece also pierced her eyebrow, nose, belly button, and her lip. All that pain just to take them out a month later since they pretty much stayed infected even though she cleaned them daily. Seemed every time she sit down her belly ring was getting caught on her pants or shirt or something like tangled in the blanket as she slept. So ouch! indeed.

Oh that sounds awful. I think belly button jewellery is cutw and pretty but the details sound gross.
As for tongues, brows, lips etc I think that looks just ugly...no offence to your family. That was a big waste of money...I know that here in Australia, about 8 years ago it cost $80 for a tongue piercing.

Mine's neither an inny or an outy for the same reason as you. I don't tend to get fluff.

I had a tummy tuck a year ag witha hernia. I don't have ANY belly button. Just a huge scar. My family is always threatening me to get out the Sharpie and draw me one. I can still imagine in my mind where it feel like it supposed to be. Oh well...I guess that there are worse things. LOL

Ms Tickle I have an inny, and my navel looks pretty good..I was foolish when i was young and had my navel pierced, because my hubby wanted me too,but i have not worn any jewelery in my navel fo a very long time....but i do not need that anymore but if i had it to do over i would not do it,but thats neither here nor there, whats done is done...Anyway I would be so happy if my body looked as good as my navel...Lol....also about your surgery,it was because it was a long time ago that you got your navel fixed...now days they can do all kinds of things to your navel and it is still very pretty...I have a grandchild that had a hernia fixed and the navel is beautiful...Also my bubby had a big hernia fixed in his navel a bout 3 or so years ago and you cannot even tell, his navel is perfect...Years ago any surgery that was done left an ugly scar, now days things are so much better, these doctors now can do miracles it seems....

It's funny how scars grow so big. My daughter had her spleen removed following a car accident when she was 2. Her scar was to the left of middle and about 11/2 inches long. She is now an adult and it goes right across her middle.
Since my childbearing days, my stretch marks have only added to the ugliness of my belly area.

Oh I'm not an English native speaker, so I don't understand what an inny or outy is. Is an INNY like a hole ,and OUTY like a hump? If that's the case, I have an Inny. I think most people have Innys??

I think my belly button is cute. I used to wear a naval ring attached to a hip chain then I got pregnant with Goliath and 3 months into my pregnancy the ring had to come out and shortly after so did my navel. I had an outy that stuck out so far the skin above my belly button dimpled inward so I ended up with 2 belly buttons and inny and an outy. But after giving birth to my 11 lb moose the outy went back to being an inny but I still have a dimple above it that I can't stand. Then after my last baby they went in through my belly button to do my tubal ligation and distorted its cuteness somehow. Now I just ignore that it is there. 3 of my 4 kids have innys but the doctor gave my last baby a outy. I hate it. I'm hoping as she gets older and loses her baby fat it won't stick out as far as it does now.

A naval ring and hip chain sounds quite alluring Cyn. Somehow though it doesn't go with "Goliath" and "Moose".
What a nong of a quack to give your baby an outy?? That was a bit mean of him. What ever happens to her I hope she's ok with it. I'm sure he will be with your help.

I have a big inny belly button. It didn't even disappear when I was 9 months pregnant. Honestly, I have never though sexy and belly button in the same sentance before so this is a first. I would say I am neutral on the subject as long as its a stinky belly button.

I have a little inny with a tiny little scar from the "bandaid" surgery had when getting my tubes tied for birth control. I have never seen "belly button fluff" is that normal? I shower every day so maybe it gets washed away.

It sure is normal. In warm weather sweat accumulates in the tiny creases that make a navel. If you are wearing clothes that carry lint, the clothes will rub on your body and the lint will accumulate in your navel...just as it does in the lint filter in your drier. When I was younger and more active it was necessary to clean the accumulated sweat and lint out of my navel before it gets stinky. My navel is very tender so I had to be very gentle.
If your inny is very deep it's more than likely it would need attention regularly.

I have an *inny* hun, and although I have been tempted to have it adorned with jewellery, somehow I just don't fancy getting pierced there - LOL

Mine is an inny. Being pregnant, I would expect it to pop, but hasn't with any of my others so who knows. No jewellery in mine, but my girls think it is funny to tickle me there.
