I used to study my dreams and how dreams come about. Some studies mention that an average dream only lasts a few seconds and usually occurs right before someone wakes up. The dream itself is usually said to be a person's interpretation of that day's events. Dreams can also be preminitions. An example of that would be of someone dreaming that their boss will not be in that day, or that they will be given an evaluation at work. If the next day this occurs, then you had a premonition dream the previous day.
Some people say that psychics see most of their claims through dreams.
Although I am not sure if it is true that people do not dream in a deep sleep state, it is often times acknowledged that any dreams that may have been had will not be remembered by the mornings light.
