I need to rant and rave about a HORRIBLE experience with a X BOY FRIEND!!

When I was only 16 years old I started dating a boy named Patrick. We had our ups and downs just like any kids in a relationship. We were on one of our ups when i decided to move in with him. We lived together and sometimes had roommates for 4 and a half years. I started getting sick and spent a lot of time in the hospital. This was hard for me because we had our differences and money was tight causing some difficulties in our relationship. So one night in May I was hospitalized for a gallbladder removal surgery. I had complications with it and ended up staying in the hospital for a week to follow, when it was supposed to be DAY surgery. On this night my dad went to my house to pick up my car so my mother could use it while I was away since my bf didn't have a license. When he arrived after spending all day till about midnight at the hospital he returned to me with the worst look on his face. I thought someone had died. He looked at me and said Keely your cars gone, and I've reported it stolen. About 30 minutes after reporting it my father got a call from the police saying it was found smashed into a wall and the car was a right off. Make a long story short... the keys were found in the car. Only person that had access to the keys was my bf Patrick.. Oh boy was my father pissed. I had just bought the car for 6 grand and had put another 6 grand into it. My poor car. So all in all.. in the past 3 years I've gone to court about this MANY times. Finally a judgment was giving that my X who admitted to this crime was to pay 3 grand to replace the car because insurance wouldn't cover it because the keys were found in the car. Why pay insurance for no reason?? Anyways I have still not received a dime for this car and the courts have not received anything on there fines they gave him. Totaling just over 750 dollars. So all in all he has to pay out about 4 grand for joy riding and smashing a car worth 12 thousand dollars. Oh did I mention.. I still have to pay off the loan I had out for the car?? I'm pretty pi$$ed about this and it feels good to get things off my chest.. But what do you guys think about this court ordered judgment for 3 grand.. When the car was worth 12grand and I brought in proof. Also what about the fines? 750 dollars.. the kid didn't even have a license or insurance. Also he admitted to being under the influence while in possession of my car. The carless wonder.
