3 weeks ago, I was having a prolonged diarrhea. It last for 2 weeks
. On 10th of March I was having fever. The fever ceased on the next day, but by mid-night, the diarrhea started. It stopped for while after taking the medicine prescribed by doctor. But my stomach was still aching. I didn't take the antibiotic given because I want to avoid the side effect it might bring along. But in the 2nd week, the stool is still watery and I was convinced by my student's parent to take it. Being worried that the diarrhea will be further prolonged, I finally took the antibiotic and recovered on the next day. It's a white colour solid tab with 3-pointed-crown shape pattern engraved on it. I was amazed by the effect it has. My student's parent (who is working as staff nurse in the private hospital) told me that the latest antibiotic requires less dosage and having wider range of coverage. So, have you experienced long diarrhea? What is the longest that you had before? Kindly share your experience if you have.

Hello dear cheongyc. I think that it was two days at most when I suffered from diarrhoea. I hate that feeling, making me go to the toilet every now and then and feel so uncomfortable. I am happy that you overcame it in the end. Take care.

Ya, it was quite an ordeal. The feeling of going to toilet at anytime is annoying. And it's boring to take non-oily and non-spicy at all time. Although I was having prolonged diarrhea, but the worst happened on the first few days. Diarrhea happened more than 10 times a day. Later, I was just having watery stool on the following days. But sometimes, I still need to rush to toilet as well and this continues for few days too. The condition only stabilized after I had taken the antibiotics. Thanks for your response my friend williamjisir!

Hi ilovjohny, I hope you are all right by now. If the situation is still going on, you should better get doctor's advise and get the appropriate prescriptions. Stop taking oily food and drink some coffee. It helped with it. But my case it's the bacteria infection so traditional way of curing is not so effective. Finally, taking the antibiotics cured it, after 3 weeks of worry. Good luck and have a nice day!

Hi dear cheongyc, I don't have such prolonged diarrhea before. I believe it must be really a torture to you to suffer such a terrible illness. I think the germs that cause the diarrhea are rather terrible and chronic. Luckily you had taken the correct latest antibiotic which had much advange as what you had mentioned. I am glad now everything has become ok. I hope you could take care of your personal hygiene especially when taking food and drinking water outside. Good luck and have a nice day.

It is quite an experience for me. But I consider myself lucky, because my condition is not as severe as my fellow employee in the company. Some of them even got admitted into hospital for few days and their diarrhea lasted for 3 weeks as well. I think the bacteria that caused this is really strong, and that's why the symptom persisted for so long. All the while I am taking care my personal hygiene well, and didn't have much diarrhea problem. My friend even suspected it could be a mini outbreak of cholera in my company. Thanks for your response lkbooi!

I am particular about my personal hygiene, and diet, sometimes LoL. I drink purified and treated water and take vitamines supplements daily. But I do not exercise consistently. Now I am playing badminton once a week only. Other time I rarely got a chance to exercise. After this round of prolonged diarrhea, I do feel that health is the utmost important priority for us.

Hi dear cheongyc, I feel quite relieved to learn that you were so lucky that your diarrhea was not as severe as those of your fellow employee. I believe this is mainly due to your proper care in personal hygiene, regular exercise, and taking nutrient foods for daily. Clean and healthy drinking water does play an important role as we have to consume lots of water per day. Happy posting and take good care.

Eww what a nice discussion lol. I don't think I have had it for that long but one week for sure. Sometimes when you have the runs for that long its a sign that the healthy bacteria in your intestines are out of place. Once you start getting acedopholis (sp?) in, it will improve, even after a bad bug and sometimes you need to go on it if you take antibiotics. You can get it at the health food store. I'm sorry to hear you suffered.

Thanks for compliment and your interesting response! In fact before I got this super long diarrhea, I rarely have diarrhea longer than 3 days. This is my record so far
. I am not sure about wether the root cause is the depletion of healthy bacteria or infection of diarrhea-causing bacteria. But seems like the recuperation happened after I had taken the antibiotic, it's more likely be the second cause. One thing I missed out is there are about 50 employee suffered diarrhea within the same week. Some of their condition were even worse, one of them was admitted for 4 days.
