Can you find a serious relationship with someone you meet in the chatroom?

The chatroom is a meeting place to many people of different cultures. Is it possible that the chatroom can be a viable place where one can find a serious relationship? Have you found someone who is into this relationship?

I would not be able to do that. I prefer face to face. Only because I would not be able to trust anyone I cannot see. I mean think about it, you can be anyone you want online and some people like to take advantage of that.
I have a friend, on the other hand, who is always meeting men online, and after only one day has met them in person. Some of them have been OK, she says, but some have been downright rude ("You didn't look that fat in your picture")and turned around and walked out. She has also had a problem with a stalker because of this, so thank goodness she just moved!!

Personally, I know some of my friends from the university chatroom when I was still in college that time. Of course, we only be friend after a while chatting and hanging out in a group (asked my friends to accompany to meet up) as I think going out alone with someone you know online is a bit risky.
My friend knew his husband through chatroom also, so I would say "yes", finding serious relationship is possible in chatroom.

Thanks for responding. I do also have friends who, they said, have found serious relationship in the chatroom but have gone sour during their eyeball. I still have to know someone who did good in their relationship outside the chatroom. I feel pity for them. I am afraid having some negative impression about the chatroom.
