Liquid Makeup - is it on the way out? What is the best of the new kind?

Is liquid makeup/foundation on its way out? I mean the usual in the 1 oz. bottle, liquid makeup or foundation wher you apply with a makeup sponge. Now, I see so many of the powder foundations (I guess that is waht they are called!) I got for Mothers Day last year, Bare MInerals. It is a powder facial makeup, you dab it one and then brush with a brush. It is fabulous! Has mostly sunscreen in it! But it is expensive. However, since then I have see this style just popping all over hte makeup counters. Is the liquid makeup on its way out? I did try Avon's version - half the price of Bare Minerals, but it is not as fine a powder nad doesn't brush on as smooth as BE. Any experience out there with this kind of makeup?

I love the Bare Escentuals line. You can do so much with it! If a shade isn't right for you, you can mix it. I use the "warmth" as my blusher but have also deepened a lighter shade of the foundation with it also to give it a deeper color. The eyeshadows are great to!

I love Bare Essentials. It is just bit over my budget for every day use. So I have the "old fashioned" liquid for daily and keep the BE for more "important" occassions! I just bought today - buy one get one free on Loreal Anti Aging, Line minimizing liquid. really good too!

I've used this line too with good results. It's much cheaper than BE. http://www.mineralgirlz.com/members/feather/

I use a tinted moisturizer which I love, I guess you could say it is "Liquid" but I hate the heaviness feel of foundations, I know that I should use some minerals because my sister has some and I used some and it was great it really made my face look great. Anyway, I love my tinted moisturizer and they come in different tints too. I will probably use a mineral powder as a blusher because blushers make me break out so bad. I am starting to like make up I normally do not wear it but now I am wearing it a lot more I look so much prettier than I use to not wearing it.

It's not liquid makeup that's on it's way out it's TALC. Talc what most makeups were made from until now, talc is bad, talc causes cancer. For nore information follow this link: http://www.preventcancer.com/consumers/cosmetics/talc.htm There are come brand out there that make liquid mineral makeup. The brand I use is Physicians Formula. I just use concealer and powder but they do make a liquid foundation.

Interesting. Hadn't heard that. I just thought is was "progress", you know, the "next step" in makeup. I still use liquid (Loreal - I buy it when it goes on sale for Buy one get one free at Walgreens!)

I like powder foundations better than liquid ones. They are much easy to for me,cause I am not good at doing makeup. But I don't like Avon's version, too dry for my skin.

I have been working iwth the powder but tend to be a bit heavy handed with it, so I really have to watch and be careful with the powder. I tried the Avon when it was on sale, but like the BE better, but in a pinch it will work. I just seemed to go on thicker and not as smooth as BE. Didn't notice any problem with dryness or things like that. Just a bit pancakey.

I like both and I use both at the same time. The powder I beleive is coming in more and more as when you use the powder you don't use sponges you use a brush. It goes on finer and makes the skin softer and smoother. Goes on more natural as well. That is what I was told by a makeup artist.

Yeah, I'll do a light coat of the liquid first and then the powder simply casue it seems to cover a bit more, and thus extends my supply of the powder to make it last longer!

As a teenager I can say that liquid makeup is the best kind around. It hides the little red spots on your facce.. I enjoy smartshade. I think its the best kind of make-up ever invented. :D

Yes, the liquid does "hide" imperfections better than the powder, at least in my experience. I'll do a light coat and then the powder or just the liquid on less than noticable days.

I like the powder foundation because it's easier to apply than the liquid foundation. I can apply powder foundation if I'm in the car whereas if I tried to apply a liquid foundation in the car, it would be a big mess.
