Any Graphic Designers out there?

I have a 2 year degree in graphic design. I graduated before they started calling it graphic design. My experience is with newspapers designing ads, a traditional printshop designing brochures, letterhead and that sort of thing. I'm looking into doing freelance work from home although I'm pretty rusty as I've been at home raising our 2 boys for the past 6 years. What is your experience?
