Has there been talk in your area of the Trucker's going on strike against the high cost of fuel they are having to pay. They believe if they shut down the country from receving goods like food, furniture and such that they will force the cost of gasoline to go down. Do you believe this or do you think it will raise prices to an all out high, something people can't afford to happen. what with the price of food going higher every day. I know the truckers are struggling right now, but so are the rest of us. i heard Bill Oriley say one night that if all of us that didn't have to go anywhere on just one Sunday a month would not buy gas on that day they would get the idea that we aren't going to take anymore rising of fuel cost. My truck today got a qurter of a tank for $25.00. That hurts a person on a fixed income. Do you find you stay home more because of the cost of gas or it hasn't effected your in any way.

Hi bdugas, Yes it has effected me and everyone that I know. I know some that have to ride bikes. My work place is 22 miles one way thats 44 miles a day. Just to go to work, and yes I stay home all I can. I know some people that drive a lot further than I do to work. Yes it hurts everybody.

Gas is up to $3.59 a gallon here, there is no way I can fill up my truck, now they are telling us that there is a shortage of rice and the price of groceries has risen just in the last week. i don't know what they want us on a fixed income to do. Apparently they don't want us to eat. Or make doctor's appointments. I'm beginning to think we are headed for a depression. I know i'm planting some potatoes and tomatos and what ever else i can.

I lived through a trucker strike already, it was awful at the end we couldn't buy bread anywhere.truckers are people they have families like you and I and they have to have enough money to live on as well, don't forget that.

Oh I totally agree with you, my son runs a trucking company here in Dayton and it would kill him for the trucks to shut down, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do, someone has to show them it time to cut the gas prices. $25. only bought me a quarter tank of gas yesterday, so I can imagine what it cost them to fill up their trucks. We could all do without a loaf of bread for awhile, if it would help them.

Some of the truckers around here did that on April 1. Alot of them couldn't afford to stop for a day, so they just drove slow to clog traffic. They really didn't say much about it on the news, so I don't know if accomplished anything. I just can't understand how deisel is higher priced than gas now. It used to be the cheapest and now it is higher priced than premium! They have to pay about $750.00 to fill up. They are the ones that deliever the gas, food and other necessities we need. Why should they be punished?

I have heard some say that just plain stopping is the only way to get the message across, maybe going slow was a way of trying to let them know that they was serious about shutting down. I also remember when deisel was way cheaper than regular gas. My son runs a trucking company don't know what that would do to him if they all shut down.

Similar things happen in China too, lots of things has tripled prices.I stay home more because of the cost of the goods,I just can afford them with my little salary. But I don't think strike is a good way to get problem fixed,it only makes things worse. To be frankly ,I don't know how to deal with that, cause I am just citizen, don't have the power to change anything.I just try be economical as possible as I can so that to make ends meet.
