How Do You Know When An Acquaintance Becomes A Friend?

It seems like most of my life I could count my true friends on one hand...and it always seemed for the most part that those friends have either ended up talking about me, ignoring me when others come around, or not feeling the friendship I was feeling. Now don't get me wrong, I am a very good people person and have a good personality and have people that want to hang around me but when it comes to having a true best friend I don't ever think I have had one......someone I trust completely that won't backstab me in someway and that is sad. How do I get over this and get a best friend?

Well I am very sorry that these people did you the way that they did. I know it is real hard to trust people once these things happen to us. But everyone is not this way.Just be very careful about the people that you associate with, take your time getting to know them. See how they interact with other people. If they talk behind other peoples backs to you, they may do the same to you.

I am not saying its all bad in my world..really I am not....so I don't want pity. I just have never had a close one on one relationship in a friendship that I trusted completely. Maybe someday I will

It really saddens me to hear of the way you've been treated summerfire.I dont think that there is anything wrong with you just the people you choose to call friends. Just continue to be yourself and that special person will find you. When i first meet a person i watch the way they interact with others, and the things they say about others that usaully determines if i want to be associated with them. Just take your time and get to know them first before calling them friends, when that person comes along you'll know.
