I smoked "pot" from the ages of about 15-22 (first tried it at 13), and then after that i smoked again on occasions, only about once a year, but in the last 6 months i have smoked often, not every day but often. Lately i've been having 1 or 2 joints every night before bed. I can give it up easy, i'm not addicted like i was when i was younger. I plan to stop soon. I'm just wondering how much i've smoked since i was 15, has affected my memory and my brain????? Sometimes i find my memory to be pretty bad, when i drink too much (no i don't drink a lot, i'm referring to when i go out clubbing once in a while) i tend to forget 90% of what was said or what happened (not major things, i remember major things that happen). Does anyone have an idea of how much it has affected my brain??

Cannabis is nonaddictive. After the high has worn off, it has no effect on long or short term memory, and can even be used to help fight the effects of Alzheimer's.

There's more than one type of addiction. If you habitually drink orange juice before going to bed for a year, you might have trouble sleeping if you stop drinking orange juice beforehand. Your brain gets in the habit of doing things a certain way and is applicable to any behavior. What we're looking at is chemical addiction. It simply is not addictive in that way.
