Do people in your house think you are crazy for typing away all the time here?

My hubby thinks im crazy but he did think I was crazy before i got into mylot lol. Thats why he married me im crazy. He knows im home alone all day and get bored so he is pretty cool about it.

Since I live alone there is nobody to tell me that I spend too much time on my pc....but a lot of people know from me telling them and they are the ones who tell me I need to get a life...

I make my living on the internet, here and for my writing which pays a lot more, my son totally understands and encourages me to do it.

In my case people here at the office and at home already knows and sometimes envy me for always having the whole time typing here and its just a nice coz it means dollars and money even if its just so little. I enjoy being here meeting new freinds and learning lots of stuff from friends here.

Actually, I don't let them know what I'm doing on line. I just shun them. They know that I have a bad temper when it comes to work and they respectfully stay away from my computer.

Nobody says anything to me, but I just got here last week. Lol. You can tell your partner also that if you were around a real friend, you can't just get up and walk away after you say what you want to say. Mylot is like being in a whole room full of friends and talking to each one individually just as long as you want to... turn your computer off and they all go home! Lol!

LOL, yes I got that exact speach from my hubby, I was spending most of my time on myLot. He made me give it up for nearly 6 months. Now, I only spend a little bit of time on here each day. The rest of the day is spent cleaning and writing my novel. I have one friend that thinks it will amount to nothing. What they don't understand is that I am pretty much housebound and I don't drive. I have met some great people here on myLot, ones that I consider good friends and that is goodd enough for me. I think you should be allowed to have both virtual and real friends.

No one in my house thinks I'm crazy for spending the entire day on MyLot. the only other person here is my husband who would do the same thing, if he didn't already have a day job. It's cool that we can make a few bucks for doin this.

Actually my boyfriend the other day, for the very first time saw me on mylot. (We don't live together, but he was over while I was on my computer) and he just kinda stared at me as if I was a loser for being on a site like this. So I told him "well, when you start giving me two cents for a discussion and rating my responses to your questions positively, I'll have these talks with you" he laughed at me, and asked what the site was about. So I explained it to him. He doesn't use the computer too much though so unfortunately I wasn't able to recruit him. which is a good thing, really since I talk about him sometimes while I'm here.

My mom doesn't think I am crazy but she just gets mad because I am always in front of the computer and thinks that I am just doing the same thing every time. She think that I just visit the same page and just looking around it always and not doing anything. She is just complaining for the bills she will pay, haha...

Hello, Kiran! Well, I live with my family in here, but usually there is only my mother and me at home (when I come back from school, at around 7 P.M., my father and brother are still working). She doesn't keep coming here to check what I am doing, so I stay here in myLot without being bothered. Also, if she comes here, she does not understand a word of what is written in here. Therefore, even if she sees the myLot, she won't know what is it about. However, I don't think you should feel strange. You are normal. Everybody is normal and everybody is crazy, depends on the point of view. As long as you are not making sacrifices to keep in myLot (for example: skipping your meals!), then there is no problem at all. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I finally had to show my hubby what it was. Now he comes home everyday and says "did you make any money". Him and his family thought all my sites were BS until I started a savings account and showed them my deposits. Now they feel foolish. He doesnt bug me nearly as much about it now that he knows I am getting paid for being on here.

kiran...maybe your father want you to do something different ... cause your father didn't know yet what you do can help ! i means in mylot can earn money like u thought too. but if we standing for mylot for all day of course that's not good too.. why ..? we are human , we need more activity ... ! like sport, shop, watch movie..or another...! even i like this site more... but i never things if mylot is everything..so i just leaved it ...for a moment and be back again... honestly..in mylot we can not laugh ! all day in mylot i just try to think.. how to give good respond and how to start a new discussion..lol anyway, you need more move cause to get sit in chair in long time is not good..lol

Hi...lol well im sure he meant no harm!!...but i think my hubby thinks im mad sometimes...im listening to him with one ear..and typing away . No..i dont think its unusual at all using Mylot...if you think about it its quite similar to having penpals...but by email....the computers are used such a lot nowadays...i read a thread yesterdy...that the person was going to do an 8 hour stint sat on Mylot...I thought she was very brave!!...i find a short while is enough for me...then i return later on...plus the fact if i come back later...either i will have thought of a question myself..or someone will have posted some new questions..... Its maybe that hes just a little bit envious of of Mylot getting your attention!

i only stay with my hubby and he never think that i am crazy for staying in mylot... i never stay for too long here anyway and i only stay here during free times after work... so he knows that i am only here for fun and enjoyment...

My husband doesn't understand how I can sit at the computer for HOURS and chat, play games, check the stocks - any of it. I love it here (internet) and he would rather watch tv.

I am terminally ill and for some reason people don't think I have a right to feel angry and sad, so I find that I can express myself here with nobody judging me...so screw them if they don't understand!!

I live alone as well so there is no-one to judge me. I'm sure my family think I spend too much time here. It's true I don't have any friends...they would only interrupt me...lol. So saying, I don't think it's healthy for me to be on here so much. I've gained a lot of weight since discovering the net and now due to knee and back issues my mobility has deteriorated. Now that I'm not working, it's nice that my time is my own but I'm not doing nearly enough to be active. I simply can't drag myself away from here. I don't really make enough money to justify the hours I spend here. I'm lucky if I earn $2 a week and I spend a minimum of 12 hours a day here. It's a tad senseless really.

em]you rockso don't let anyone rain on your parade i like to vent and post and make a money now and then to keep my wife happy... as long as i am making money she is happy..and i showed her how i made ten bucks for talking to the radio..lol but maybe your friend guy is jealous of the attention..lol..so have a good time here and make something while you are [b]doing it!

People's ideas of the same thing are varied from person to person. Thongh he is your friend, you can not demand he has the same idea as you. If you believe your view is harmless, just do what your want to do and just be yourself.
