What Lawn ornaments do you have decorating your place?
Do you bedeck your garden with cement gnomes and donkeys?
or
with free ranging poultry in an array of hybrid colors?
perhaps your ornamentation is in the landscaping with bushes of various hues, berries and flowers?
If you do not yet have a lawn, what do you enjoy seeing in other's lawns?
Personally I love to see a yard occupied by ranging chickens and other fowl - or even an old nag horse, jack or jenny.
I also like rustic tools - such as old well pumps, push tillers and plows - oxen harnesses and the like.

Our lawn is kind of boring. I have some plans for a butterfly and hummingbird garden in the front this year. We have a purple gazing ball, a fairy, a couple of frogs, a wire snail and that's about it.. I do plant lots of flowers on our deck and usually put a small fountain on a side table. I would love to put in a small pond but with my back as bad as it's been I would need someone else to do it for me.... good luck with that I say...lol We have a really big frog we bought on sale last summer that will be going out there too. I would love to have chickens free ranging in the yard but instead we have cats...lots of cats.

we have..gargoyles.my family's considered a bit eccentric in this neighborhood.but i think they go well with the stone walls in the yard.
it doesn't pay around here to have gnomes because people swipe them.

So you like the province style of lawns. In our place we have chickens on our ground and some pigs at the backyard. We have trees around the house and we personally just plant it there. Here in the city I like to see those houses without the covered fences, so I can see whats inside. I like plants and trees and a little about landscaping as I am working in a place where there are lots of trees and plants and landscape areas. But at home as I am living in small condo, I decorated my small window with plants and other decorative things. I also hang on some display items. But because the sun doesnt come in, the plants dont grow as it should be. I just changed the plants every now and then.

I love the rustic look too.
Old wagon wheels. Half keg barrels turned on their side with flowers spilling out. Old farm equipment (I planted flowers in an old manure spreader once!). Had our six horses on my property too.
I don't have any of that here in the little house I'm renting. All I have is soft ground and hills from moles.
:(

I love rides in the country, for any reason!
I like to fantasize about what I'd do with a particular piece of land, or take ideas that I see and figure out how I'd incorporate something similar into my own.

My lawn ornaments consists of turtles of all types. I have large ones ranging down to small ones. I love my turtles and decorate my yard every spring with them.
My favorite lawn decoration is in a yard down the road. It is an old claw foot bathrub filled with dirt and flowers. It is so beautiful when it is in bloom.

i am like you in the last line of your discussion. i am a large fan of antiques and other old things. we live in a town house, so we dont have a lot of space. but during the winter i have an old sleigh on the front porch and during the summer, it is a old wicker chair with a pot of flowers on it.

Well I have a rock garden on either side of my front steps and I fill matching pots with flowers...on one side is a wooden chair I painted with flowers on it and there is a cream can next to it that I also painted on. On the other side is a bench...with more pots...and inbetween the pots I have frogs....a frog birdbath and various other smaller frogs.....I love frogs!

We live in an apartment and only just have a small patio, so we don't have any lawn ornaments, although I just planted seeds and would like to make it a place we can sit and have coffee. I will tell you this, if my dog doesn't stop peeing on the carpet she will soon become a lawn ornament. Does that count?
