I know that a lot of Mozart's music is usedd in therapy sessions and in teaching litttle kids to do better in school. It has a calming tranquilizing effect on people so it should help in illness where you need to be kept calm for healing to start.

There is a certain truth to that I guess. My music professor has always told us that certain types of music induces some bodily reactions on humans, and all living things for that matter. In fact, many studies have been shown that listening to "classical" music stimulates growth of healthy cells in human brain and thus facilitates intellectual capacities. There was even a study conducted on two roses left to be nurtured in a room for some days, one rose accompanied by classical music and the other with noisy rock and roll music. The result showed that the plant reacted positively to the classical music and went on to bloom, while the other plant's growth got frustrated and was seen incresingly tilting each day. Anyhow, what my professor said struck me when you posted the question. I think yes, music can heal illness and may even act as teraphy of some sort for people who are gripped with certain delibities. I am just not sure which kind appeals to what kind of illness. But what I can surmise would be, that classical music may help a person pacify one's thoughts and calm his personhood, and that probably allows his or her healthy cells to regenerate. I dunno. There must be a certain truth to that. I would recommend you checking some viable studies about this on the internet if you are really interested. But as far as I am concerned, I think this is something already established and accepted.

music is part of many lives. without music i think life would be so boring. music adds colors to the complex world and complicated lives living. true that music can be a sort of therapy we say, healing wounds. but that literally means the wound physically, not necessarily healing the illnesses. what music could cure is the wounded heart. it also helps us show our feelings within toward someone or something. it's a means of expressing ourselves by putting a tune to our words. music influences us a lot i believe - to our thoughts, feelings, and actions. music rocks!
