Do you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when the planes hit the twin towers on 9/11/2001? I remember that I was standing on a stepstool trying to replace my stormdoor window with a screen because it was warm day and our A/C had already been put away for the winter. The morning show was on and suddenly there was a special report and Tom Brokaw was saying a plane had flown into the North Tower. I remember thinking the pilot must have had a heart attack and couldn't control the plane, but then Tom Brokaw said the South Tower had been hit by another plane and started talking about terrorism. I was so stunned to believe that someone could and would do someting like that to our country. What about you? Do you remember what you were doing when the towers were hit?

I remember I was at work at that time. One of the other tenants of the office building I worked at came in and asked if we'd heard the news, which we hadn't. The owner of the company had family that was in NYC while this was going on and he couldn't get ahold of them so he put the news and radio on. He finally located his family a hour later so then no one was allowed to watch tv or listen to radio, only when he needed info on his family. what a jackass!!

It was a scary time for everyone, and probably quite frustrating for anyone who heard the initial news and then couldn't be near a tv to see the latest developments.

I was at home in bed relaxing with my ex-husband because we both had the day off. It was so surreal and unbelievable! Sometimes I watch footage of it again even today and am still surprised and shocked, and saddened as well of course.

I don't think I've ever had so many different emotions going on as I did glued to the tv that day. Surprise, anger, shock, I cried for the families and prayed for the ones who might be still alive under the rubble. It is still shocking to watch the footage and see the memorials they play every 9/11.

I was laying on my bed having my dressing changed by the nurse. I was recovering from flesh eating bacteria. By the time she had finished the second plane had hit. I went in the other room and woke up my roommate. I didn't know of course what was going on yet so I said.. Cam get up 2 planes have hit the twin towers in New York.. I think somethings going on so get up and watch...lol She was mad I hadn't woke her when the first plane hit but I couldn't as I was in the middle of having my bandages changed. What a dreadful day it turned out to be. Brightest Blessing, Mari

I was working at Subway at the time. The store was not open yet I was the only one there. I was getting the tomatos sliced for the lunch rush and was listening to the radio when they came on and said a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers.

It's amazing how that moment seems frozen in time for many of us. My mom used to talk about what she was doing when she heard Pres. Kennedy had been shot. I guess that was one of her frozen in time moments.

I was a travel agent at the time and I remember sitting at my desk, watching my computer go crazy with every single airport shutting down all at once due to a "possible hijacking". Then the computers were so overloaded that they went blank. I'll never forget it!

I was 2 months pregnant with my daughter at the time, feeling sick as it was and walking into a restaurant near where I worked to get some gingerale and they had tv's there. After seeing that sure didn't help how I felt!! Putting it lightly.

Yes I do remember where I was actually. I was driving my car to take it to the mechanic. On the way there it came over the radio about plane crashes, that was all I heard. I dropped my car off and my mother was waiting to take me home and once there we found out all what happened. I still remember watching the news and seeing the towers just crumble. Something though that stuck with me is after a couple of hours my sister and I just had to get out of the house but of course we had no car. We decided to walk the mile to a small restaurant around the corner. The air outside was so still. you heard no planes or cars. There weren't even birds out. As we walked we saw hoses left out in yards along with water bottles, it was obvious people had rushed inside when called and forgot everything out there. It just felt like everyone and everything was paused, that the world was waiting with bated breath for what would happen next.

Its wierd but I do. I guess it was a day we will never forget and thats why we remember. I remember getting up and going down stairs. My dad was glued to the news like usual. He says hunny come here. I went over and he told me what happened. We sat and watched it together. Now a week earlier I had just found out I was pregnant so Im freaking a bit. What kind of a world am I bringing a child into?? The worst part was when a plain crashed into the pentagon. My uncle...dads brother works there. Right where the plain hit! He was devistated. He was on the phone for ever trying to find out where he was. Finally in the evening we got a call from him. He had left the pentagon for a meeting 5 minutes before the plain hit. THANK GOD!! If he wouldnt have had that meeting who know what would have happened. We got lucky in that our loved one was safe but so many other lost there lives. God bless them and there familys! I do remember watching the news for a while about it and seeing the tributes at ground zero to the victims. So Sad! ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper

Here in the Philippines I was at home with my family watching TV. We were switching channels when we got to CNN. There was breaking news that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. Everyone thought it was an accident when suddenly a second plane hit the other tower. That was when we were shocked into the reality that this was a terrorist attack.

We were um- trying to conceive that morning. It was a rare occasion when my partner & I were both home in the daytime and our other children weren't. We missed the initial news stories because of that. A friend of mine called, and was saying all sorts of crazy stuff that didn't make sense. I really thought he was telling some sort of joke. Then we flipped on the TV and saw the plane hitting the second tower.

I was at my office. Got a call from a friend. We turned the tv on and watched live as the second plane hit. Still makes me sick thinking about it. Thoughts about it plague me.My dad was in New York at the time for business. Didn't know what happened to him for hours.

We all lost some of our security that day. I never thought something like that could happen in the USA.

I was in my room reading a book, I was homeschooled, my sister came in and said something weird was going on and so I went and looked at the TV and found out what happened. She was 8 and didn't have a clue what was going on and I was 12, so I figured it out pretty fast.

I think I was on the bus coming away from the hospital, or I was in the hospital. That day was the first appointment for my son which was born on the first of September. The reason I don't remember exactly where I was when it happened is that I didn't find out about it until I got back home. I remember hearing bits and snatches of what happened as I got on the bus. (I must have been in the hospital when it happened then) I kept wondering what everyone was talking about. Once I got home, the TV was on, and there it was on the news. The two planes that crashed into the towers, the one plane that crashed into the pentagon, the fourth plane, I forget where it was headed to crash, but the crash was averted by the passengers on the plane. I remember thinking, after the investigations went through, how could all these people let these few terrorists hijack the plane with box cutters? I know that I'm not a brave person, but I would have been one person to get up and attack. You can only cut me so many times before I get the cutter out of your hand, and I can get stitched up on the ground where its safe.

I was at home after returning from work (I work from midnight to 6 a.m.) I turned on the television a few minutes after the first tower was hit. I didn't know what happened and I didn't have the sound on at first, so I thought there was just a fire or a bomb explosion. The second tower was struck a short time later.

I was still living in the UK and was at work. My boss who was out on the road with the radio on rang back to the office and told us to put the TV on in my office. We watched, transfixed, in horror. It was odd for me as I was about to fly to the states to visit my now home for the first time. On Sept 10th I could fly from my local airport but had no passport on Sept 12th my passport arrived but all flights from my local airport to the USA were stopped and didn't resume until last year (I have yet to fly US to Stansted)

I live in the UK, on that day I had been out shopping with my then one month old son, we had been in the house for a few minutes and I put the tv on, I remember thinking that it was strange that the usual programme that I knew was on, was in fact not on and it was a news flash. When I finally managed to find out what was going on I was really shocked and just sat there staring at the tv trying to take it all in.

I was sleeping in a hotel in Washington DC, coming back from Virginia because my boyfriend took me on a road trip for my birthday which is 9-11. I love sleeping in hotel beds and it was the best sleep I'd had in a long time and my boyfriend woke up before me and was getting out of the shower. He turned on the tv and then woke me up and next thing I know Im watching the second plane running into the Towers. It was surreal that day because of what happened at the Pentagon as well.

I was at home. I just woke up and turned on the tv. I had just quit my job so was not in a rush to get anywhere. They replayed the footage of the first tower and then came in with reports of the second. They just kept replaying them over and over with reporters attempting to keep it together and comment about what was happening. I was in a small town but just kept wondering what the nearest target to me would be, and it i was far enough away that i blast wouldn't hit me.
