Sorry but I wouldn't use Norton. Takes up to much of your computers resources. And why paid an annual fee when you can get as good for free? Try Grisoft AVG or Avira, I use Avast and have done for years with no bother what so ever.

'fraid I have to agree with you. I wouldn't touch Norton with a bargepole either, despite it being user-friendly. Just a little story....a few years ago, I had Norton anti-virus on my computer. I always, without fail, virus-check any file, document, attachment etc. before opening. On this occasion, somebody sent me an email with an attachment. I checked it with Norton, it came up clear - then I opened it and my computer went into complete meltdown. I was knocked offline and couldn't access my internet. All else on my computer suddenly appeared, on the desktop, as if it were being viewed through a telescope and four oversized icons overtook the whole of my screen. I contacted my computer guru who came to see if he could solve the problem. It ended up with him identifying a bad virus, and Norton had missed it completely. My whole hard drive had to be totally wiped, and we had to begin with a complete reload of everything. I lost masses of photos and other stuff in the process. Once I was back online again, my PC guru suggested I use AVG/Grisoft free anti-virus, so we downloaded it. Once installed, we ran a virus check with AVG and it even picked up and cleaned the very tiniest, miniscule traces that had been left behind on the hard drive after the total wipe......pretty good, picking up & cleaning just the merest traces, when Norton had missed the whole thing in its entirety. A couple of my friends have had similar things happen to them with Norton anti-virus missing viruses, big time!

I much prefer the grisoft AVG. Right now I'm using the free edition of 7.5, but I am about to upgrade to version 8. I never had a problem since installing Avg on my computer.
