I am a huge animal lover, yet for the life of me i cannot take a liking to a crocodile or a snake. I will run - find a rowing boat if i can and go sit in the flipping middle of the ocean! if a spider or a praying mantis came near me! What animal/s and insects put the fear of life in you?

spiders and centipedes and snakes are what I fear most and dont intend to get near them at all.preying mantis are harmless but spiders are not. a spider bite is very painful also I am afraid of tarantulas because their bite can be deadly.

i can't stand spiders. got bit by one, and had a very bad allergic reaction to the bite. ended up in hospital emergency room, had to get allergy treatment, which really hurt and was not great at all. everytime i see a spider, i get a newspaper or a flyswatter and kill the thing. and i also cringe.

I am not aware of actual poisonous spiders here..although there are a few that give a bite that would need medical treatment, but not that would actually kill you like certain snakes can.

I don't know that I am afraid of any animals.\ Now if I was walking down the street and a saw a Lion or bear, it would most likely scare me.

I am sure it would scare anyone really. But all the same I'd love to be able to touch a fully grown lion still. I have held a cub before.

I agree with you with your response. To other's it may look funny at seeing your reaction to your phobia, but one needs to understand too that until they themselves have such a fear, they will never understand why people with a phobia go moggy. I myself am guilty although i have my own phobia's, others tend to be funny to me...we only human..

well this is a difficult question to answer. if i saw a lion tiger bear croc or something like that in the wild i dont think that i would fear it i would just be precautionary to it. however if you saw my reaction to a cockroach or spider you may think that it scared the life out of me but i just dont like creepy crawlys so take from this what you will but i couldnt resist giving an answer

lol thanks for the response..Isn't it amazing though how we...a million times bigger than a little insect...fear them more than animals around our own size!

I forgot one other thing. I'm not afraid of, but I really dislike small dogs. They're sneaky little things and people don't train them properly because they're so "cute". Well, all dogs need to know who's boss. I was bitten by a Maltese when I was 12. Luckily, I was wearing boots so the little bugger never drew blood or broke my skin. It happened when I was delivering the daily newspaper to the person's house. I've never met one that changed my opinion, either. And yes, I know it's the owner's fault, not the dog's. Unfortunately, there's never any news stories about vicious toy poodles! The bigger dogs get all the bad press.

I don't really fear ANY animal or insect. Maggots are gross, but necessary and little hairy centipedes must be killed. I kill them myself, however. I have had cats since I was 12, my parents have had a couple of dogs. At various times my kids have had hamsters, degus, rats and fish. The rats were my favourite. they love a shoulder ride and they're very affectionate. I want a ball python but I don't yet have the cash flow to buy one or maintain one properly. I have handled snakes before and I think they're lovely!

Hello, Gratitude. I am also an animal lover. I like to be with dogs and cats all around, some kind of rats also. However, I hate to see those small alligators that run in your house's walls. I don't know the name in english for it, it is just a miniature of a crocodile, that can fit in your hand. If you hold it by it's tail, the tail will be in your hand and the animal will run, without tail. Soon, it will regenerate. I don't like to see frogs, neither. I don't know, those kind of disgusting animals. I am not afraid, I just find it pretty disgusting. Fishs for me are also disgusting. lol Respectfully, Munhozmib.

LOL those miniture 'crocodiles' are called gheko's. they are a plenty in our homes. They are cold to touch and yes their tails fall off is they are stressed or cornered. They are good to have around really as they catch all the little go-ga's that fly around like mozzies!! I dont mind a rat..my nephews had them as pets, but i cannot touch them, the feeling of their tails make the hair on my neck stand up for some reason. Frogs dont bother me as long as they over therrrrrrrre! away from me.

I am so afraid of bugs. About the only ones I can handle are flies, bees, ladybugs and butterflies, anything else and I'm in tears.

i just dont like snakes! they make me nervous and give me a bad feeling. but i can tolerate insects and other reptiles. wild animals are cool and cute, but scary because they are wild, and therefore, i prefer to admire their beauty from far away and locked up.

Unless its for conservation reasons, I am totally against any wild animal been caged up! Been in South Africa with the vast amount of game reserves, there is nothing more beautiful than going to see these animals out in the wild, in a jeep for example, with a game warden of course.

Well, there are so many, and some of them I even cannot tell their names. Snake ranks number 1 in my lists of animals that I fear so much.I am so afraid of them even when I see them in a movie or TV show, let alone to see them in person.I will definatily run away as quickly as I can!

Haha! This one is fun! I don't mind snakes, as long as I don't see it. I don't mind spiders as long as it's not alive. Ticks...ugh! I hate even pulling them off of me. The thought of something that small that can carry so many diseases.....they are just nasty. Mosquitos are the same way, they are just gross. I don't like any kind of bee, especially bumble bees. There are a bunch of buzzing little insects that I have no idea what they are when I'm picking blackberries in the summertime, whatever they are I don't like them. Skunks, just because they stink, and coyotes, just because I hear them every night and I'm kind of a wuss outside after dark. I'd say that pretty much sums it up. :)

Coyotes! we dont get here thank goodness. But let me tell you..go camping..sleep in tents...and hear a lion roar in the distant...that! is a scarey sound even though you know there is no ways it can get near you!

The creatures that will frighten me always are leech, worm and snake. Whenever I come across any of them I definitely will stand still and scream wildly and just waiting for someone to Rescue. I just couldn’t imagine how the situation would be if it happens that there is no one around to help me.
