50th Birthday Special Present.

My very bestest friend is 50 at the end of the month. I want to get her something really special as she has had a rough time of it of late (just lost her brother and in last four years lost mu and dad to cancer). I am usually good at coming up with off the wall presents but this one has me stumped. Slight restriction is that I have to send the present via post to UK so it cant weigh too much I have trawled websites for ideas but nothing that grabs me. HELP anyone have any really good gift ideas or sites. Any ideas welcome time is running out.

I have made tag books with photos and quotes for my friends for their birthdays and they have loved them. It's definitely a one of a kind thing. They are small too, so the shipping cost will not be too much.

You could do an accoridan style one and you can usually buy one with a matching envelope. Then just decorate it. I recently did one for my second cousin that is not fairing too well health wise and she loved it and looks at it all the time. You can still combine photos and quotes. I did hers in less than a day. Just inked edges, ripped paper, add photos & quotes, then a sprinkling of embellishments. I keep the embellishments pretty flat so they wouldn't rub much on the photos on the opposite side. Just keep it simple.
