Tax People, I Need Your Help!

Okay, here is the problem... Last year, I basically did the exact same things as this year. I donated a ton of milage to volunteer organizations and some stuff as well. My taxes are withheld through my employer (same one last year as this year). And last year I got a return from federal and only a very slight return from state (that I didn't bother to get because it costs more to e-file than the thing was worth). This year, I expected the same results. But instead I have to pay state and federal. My tax withholdings are the same at work. The only thing different I did, is that I made a very very small amount of interest from the bank this year. Like $20. Not so much that I would expect to pay this much. Can anyone help me figure out what went wrong? And I used TurboTax, so it isn't even my calculations.
