In your personal experience would you say that men or women are more frivolous when it comes to spending money? Would you say that men and women have different attitudes towards money in general? Generally speaking I would say that gender plays no part in determining a persons attitude towards money, and that the way that they were raised would have more of an impact on a person's views towards money, budgeting etc etc. Personally though, I have found my other half and I are complete opposites when it comes to our finances. I want to cut back on luxuries and concentrate on paying off all debt asap, and start saving for a house deposit. I look at things with long term goals in mind, and like to plan. My man on the other hand, is more spontaneous, and wants to apply for even more credit, befor epaying off exisitng credit (which I think is a really bad idea). What has been your experience?

i guess gender plays no part in managing finances, you will see a lot of women who are thrifty and can manage their money well, and see many others who wastes money like there is no tomorrow... and same goes for guys. i think how one manage his/her finances is what is instilled in that person as a child, if the true "value" of it was taught to them at a young age, and of course, if they are able to bring this knowledge with them as they go through life.

Hello, megs! I think there is wide difference between man and woman so far spending of money is concerned.the man or the husband earns money and give it to his b/f for meeting the household needs, who makes a surplus budget for the month and save some money for making some assets,as you say,a house of their own and subsequently a bike or a car etc.but on the other hand the husband never like to limit the expenditure and spends lavishly and at the time of needs, never mind to borrow money.you are justified in planning your future.keep on.i have also left every thing in the hands of my b/f.thank you.

I agree with you Megs, gender has nothing to do with attitudes towards money, its like asking "do men differ with women when it comes to food preferential." I think it more of an individuality thing.

oh yes there is a huge difference between the two. men do have a tendancy of taking loans very litely. women at the other end are just too consious about the same. if theyahd to borrow money it would play on their mind till they returned it back. a women today would happily treat a guy for dinner and feel good about it, guess guys are just board of doing that and prefer women who lke to trat guys.
