What do you usually do when kids are being so lazy to go to school?

At this time, I am so lucky because my little daughter really love to go to school. When she have holiday, she will miss the school a lot, and always counting the days to go back to school again.

I will do what my mum did, she would keep us home no tv we had to stay in bed as sick children need sleep lol and we were often so bored we were begging to go back to school the next day.

I am the mean mom who makes them get up and go to school. If they end up giving me a hard time, they have to go to bed earlier that night so they won't be so tired the next day. The mention of that, usually wakes them right up!

Not too long ago, a Nascar race was rained out and postponed to a Monday at 1pm. My step-son thought he would be slick. The kids leave pretty early for school and my husband is still home when they leave so I usually stay in bed with the baby until he gets up. My step-son insisted that he was so sick and couldn't go to school so my husband let him stay home. The first thing my step-son said to me was "Did you know the race is on today at 1?". I guess he thought that I had forgotten Daddy's rule about missing school. If you don't go to school, you're in bed for the day. Every time he tried to creep around the corner to sneak a peek at the race, I shut the tv off. With the 2 oldest kids (13 and 15) my husband is trying to teach them about responsibility and consequences for their actions. He said it's up to them to get up and make it to the bus. If they miss it, they're home for the day and on their bed.
