Are the first responces on discussions always more discriptive to you?

I have two theories about this. The first is just what everyone else here has said. People who take the time to read responses don't want to repeat too much of what has already been said.
My second theory is that it's kind of a combination of pride and assumptions. When you are one of the first to respond, you want to give it your best because it's almost guaranteed that your post will be read by a lot of people. If you know your post will be buried on the 3rd or 4th page (or 10th) ity's easy to assume it will barely be noticed if at all. That assumption leads you to not put as much effort into it.

Maybe because a lot of the valid points have allready been made so people only add extra ideas opinions etc rather than repeating what has allready been said? Thats just a guess though

I dont see that too often. There are certain people who seem to post longer than others so if they happen to be first it would apply lol. But for me it varies througout my discussions.

I think people read through the initial responses and everything they thought to say has already been said, however, they want to give the person posting the discussion some kind of response. So they settle for less, instead of not responding at all.

Hi libertarianfreedom21,
In my opinion, it is the first response that is to be respected more. Because , only in first response, we can see the original idea to our discussion.Even though there are many people who respond to our discussion without looking in to other responses to our discussion, there are many who are just following in others responses. As far as I am concerned, I just go in to responding to a discussion, put my opinions, reactions and reply according to my thinking and only after submitting my response I will come to know how many others responded to the disccussion.
Good Luck.

thats how i do it, i have what im going to say in my head and i better say it before i read others or i will either lose what im going ot say, or see that to many people said the same and i would be just repeating myself.

i think maybe it's because by the time people go down the list of responses, they realize everything they wanted to say has already been said.

Yea thats about right, I know i had a lot to say many times but most of it already has been said, when that happens though I usually just move on to another discussion

I agree with the others on this. Theres only so many things that can be said about certian posts. Unless its about personal things. I really think some people dont want to repeat what has already been said. Like Im doing right now..LOL!!

Most of the time, yes. Perhaps it's because we read other's responses before we respond. After that, we don't have much else to add! lol That's one reason I've started responding first, so I won't forget my own response.
