I think they are interesting. I don't think they are evil at all. There have been stories about wizards and magic for many years without in any way being related to anything evil or Satanic. I think that some people just overreact and classify anything related to those topics as Satanic or evil and, therefore, taboo.

As for me, it is both devilish and interesting. Why, I said so? It is devilish because any form or exercise or practice of witchcraft or magic whether it is good or bad or say black or white is considered way of the devil. Such kind promotes that power is beyond supernatural and that God is in existent. It is a way of the devil to attract us and be motivated to have such kind of power or make our minds think that having power is good. Devil comes into many form either fiction or reality. On the other hand, Harry Potter is interesting because in our minds we thought what we read in the book or see in the movie are very far to happen in real life. The story is very interesting per se because it involves magic and witchcraft. Thus, the lead character, Harry Potter is young and easy loved. If we read and watch this kind, be sure to detach yourself in the story because if you get hooked to it, the devil is moving in to you. He is taking advantage of that moment where you will read and read, watch and watch over and over again with this kind of stories or similar. My personal experience, I also watched Harry Potter. I love witchcraft and magic. There were times that I practice it. I only realized lately that it is one of the doors of the devil.

Hi, I really liked all the Harry Potter books and the movies. To me they arent evil at all. I am aware that theres other people who deem it evil or even against their religion...to the point that they tried to have the books banned. Books shouldnt be banned even if it is against your reigion that kind of thing gets in the way of freedom of speed thought etc. If you dont like it..dont let your kids read it but dont try to control what other parents and other people might read. (sorry bit of a rant but) If the book is interesting or not..its all in your taste of books.

My ten year old son is Harry Potter mad and loves reading all the books time and time again, and he loves watching the dvd's. He thinks they are both evilish and intresting. I myself cannot stand the books and can't really see the point in them as they do nothing for me whats so ever. The children do watch the dvd's downstairs but i have never seen a Harry Potter film from begining to end, or do I want to. I like to write and I wish I had had the idea and written them and have had all the money that JK Rowling has!! Don't we all. She has created a gem, wether we like it or not. In my case NOT!!!!

I love Harry Potter. I don't think they're evil at all. They have a good message if you read them and are not just scared off by the whole "they're influencing children to practice witchcraft" nonsense. Think about it. To triumph, Harry must be loyal, be open to suggestion, and admit when he's done something wrong like leaving Genny at the end of book six. Aren't those good traits for all children to learn? We just wrap the lessons in a magical tale that helps them go down easier. Kids don't even realize they're learning.

Well its a little too late to be debating on this topic... mainly because the series has come to an end abt 1 to 2 yrs back and no more books are gonna release now.. it doesnt have too much evil... its like every other children's books where there is always a central villain.. same is in the case of HP

I read all of the books last month for the first time. I do not think that they are evil. I think that they are written at the level they are targeting and as long as you have taught your children the difference between fiction and reality then they are ok for all to read. They do not get wonderful until the 4th book but they are all good.
