I have been a SAHM for almost 5 years now and I absolutely love it! I get to spend good quality time with my daughter and she is smart as a whip! She's 4 and already reading. My house is always clean and we have a wonderful, home made dinner on the table every single night. On the other hand I do not get a lot of adult interaction. A break from my child every once in a while would be NICE (LOL) - I LOVE nap time! HAHA!! So if you are a SAHM - what do you love about it and what do you dislike about it? If you are NOT a SAHM what is your opinion about them?

I am a wahm. I wish I could just be a sahm but we need the money from my job. I do home daycare so it really is like being a sahm except I have 6-12 kids. Ha Ha Talk about needing some adult conversation! I love being home and being able to manage my time the way I like, being here when my kids get home from school and being able to be a part of their lives. My youngest is 2 so I also save on daycare expenses. I am trying to find a way to make some extra money on the computer so that I don't need to have as many daycare kids. That will give me more time with my own kids.

I thought about starting a day care at home to make some extra money but I didn't think I could handle that. LOL My one daughter is plenty for me. Then again - when you have more them one kid they keep EACH OTHER occupied and don't depend on YOU as much. :)

I'm a SAHM. I have 4 kids, though. My house is never clean and I used to like to cook but any more all I get is complaints. I can never please everyone. What I like about being home is I don't miss any of the kids' milestones. I have been there for every first step and every first word. What I hate is that I am always there. I have had exactly 3 nights away from my kids in the last 19 months and that was when I was in the hospital having the baby back in April. The last time me and my husband went out to dinner alone was also back in April 2005. We don't see it happening again for several more years. We barely ever talk anymore because there are always kids around and when they are finally in bed we are both too tired to do anything but sit there.

I have been a SAHM for about 5 yrs now. I have 1 child who is in 2nd grade. I love nap time too.. LOL (mine) My hubby works nights so I usually take a nap during the day. My house clean. I'm a coupon/refund/sweeps fanatic and my family thinks I am nuts. (until they get free stuff or great gifts from me.. hehe) I miss the adult interaction, but we moved into a great neightborhood where we sit out in our chairs and watch the kids rough house together. Last night for Halloween we had a block party and closed off the streets in our cultisac to all cars, brought out the smokers and grill and had a great ol' time.

OMG - I am a HUGE "got this on sale" person. My hubby makes fun of me cuz someone will comment on something that I bought for the house and I will be the first one to say "I got that one sale for 'such and such price'! I am such a FRUGAL shopper and am a tight wad. LMAO That sounds great about your neighborhood - wish we lived somewhere like that. Our daughter is the only kid on the block. Anyway, take care!!!!

I am a wahm, but I do most of my work while my kids are in school. I quit working outside the home when my oldest was a baby. I went back after I had her for about 6 weeks, but couldn't handle it. We decided that she needed me at home more than we needed the money. Now that all my kids are in school I work from home, but am looking at getting a job outside of home during school hours. That way I have some adult conversations...

I was planning on going back to work after my daughter was born but after I had her I realized that I could never do that. I just HAD to be with her all day. We were so poor for so long and did without A LOT of things - had dial-up, no cable tv, never went out to eat, ect.... But to me it was so worth it!

Painting pumpkins - This is my little guy painting his pumpkin.
I am a SAHM to a little boy who will turn two next month. I just rececntly quit my job to be home with him this past July. It was the best decision I have ever made. I love being home with him. I have so many more special moments with him that I would not have had if I were not here during the day. And yes, my house is cleaner, we eat out less and my son is learning so much more. Here's a pic of him....

I am also a SAHM and I have been for about 4yrs now. I have been told by people that they t hing SAHM's are women who are lazy and dont want to work, but if you walk in to a home that a SAHM lives in you can eat off the floor because they work so hard at cleaning and raising there kids. I love being a SAHM. My husband loves coming home and getting attacked by the kids and getting a hug from his wife. I have to admit tho since I joined mylot I have been letting my chores slack off alot so I might need to take a day off from mylot and get back on track. ;D

I'm a SAHM and I love it. You get to be there for your kids all the time, you get to experience all their milestones and just have so much fun with them. We too have dinner together every night, as a family, and my husband loves that he doesn't have to do any housework at all anymore. I would say the only bad part is that it's hard not having the adult interaction. And my son just stopped taking naps, so I rarely get a break anymore.

I'm a stay-at-home mom. Some days I like it, some days not so much. I love spending time with my kids, but some days the temper tanrums make my days longer. That and, with 4 kids here, I'm *still* expected to have a perfect house. And I get burned out sometimes, because I never, ever get time for me.
