Three days ago I started a discussion here about, the latest book that Oprah is promoting, The New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. The following day I realized that I had used The New Earth, as my discussion subject, and I had used that title before when talking about a new planet that had been discovered. Sorry about the confusion because this is about something entirely different. I am talking about a wonderful new book that everyone with an interest in spirituality should read. I feel that Oprah is doing a great service to the world by promoting this book and others like it. I would like to get you comments on this, but please don't condemn the book without first reading it. Blessings.

Well my friend I guess there aren't too many people who want to be enlightened...LOL--it is a "deep" book and could turn people off, and especially some of Tolle's interpretations of the bible and of Christ..for instance he does give an explanation early on in the book about the true meaning of "sin" which is so different from what many Christians who take the bible literally have been given as the meaning...if you grew up a certain way and belief, one might think he's attacking Christianity when he isn't...you should see some of the heated discussions on the Oprah message boards...yeesh

Hi pyewacket, Thanks for coming here. I agree with you that many people will think that he is attacking Christianity, but I find that Christian beliefs have changed a lot over the years. There are still a lot of wonderful Christian people out there, but many of them may not be ready for this. I have been reading what you might call "deep" books for years. Blessings.

I've been reading deep books for years too..LOL...maybe that's why I balance the deep with reading light things as well...like the Harry Potter series that I just finished re-reading ....AGAIN--just started reading Artemis Fowl
