Do You Make Yours According To What You've Planned To Have For The Week Or Do You Just Fly y The Seat Of Your Pants And Buy What You Need And May Feel Like Having? I Make Grocery Lists But Never Look At Them Once I Get To The Store And I End Up Buying Just What I Need And Feel Like Cooking. I Would Like To Kinda Plan My Meals For The Week But I Found That When I Did That, It Wasn't What I Felt Like Eating For That Night And Always Find Something Else To Eat.

I usually make a list. A list of mostly what I know I need, but not what I want. When I get there, I check out the sales, and perhaps decide while I'm there, I pick out a few things that I think I would like to have for dinner, or to snack on.
Since prices for everything has gone up, I try to buy things in bulk if possible. It might cost 10$ for 10 things, but it's better than buying two boxes for 3$.

I typically plan a menu of 7 dishes and make my list based on that. I try to plan for a couple dishes that use canned or frozen foods so if we end not eating at home one or two nights, it isn't going to waste. I cross off the list as I go at the store. When money was extremely tight, I would also tally up prices as I went so I knew I wouldn't go over. Thankfully, I rarely have to do that anymore. If I have extra in the budget than what I know I will spend for the week, I do still end up with alot in the cart that just looks or sounds good...lol.
