I was at a mom's night out recently with a group of about 10 other women and a discussion we had interested me/made me laugh a little. We were all pretty passionate about the base make up we use and the reason we use it. So I am curious, what base make up wear and why did you choose it? I wear Mac Studio Fix because it is a powder based product and I have fairly oily skin. I also have on hand the Mineral Powder base make up that Arbonne makes to use on the days that I don't care much about coverage but want to just even the tone of my face. What about you? If you are one of the blessed who does not wear make-up, are you happy with your skin tone?

I don't wear any makeup but would like to as my skin tone is kind of patchy, especially around the eyes and cheeks. I wouldn't know where to start really.

You might looking into some of the mineral make ups out there. It is just like dusting powder on your face and really works to even out skin tone. I'm no expert, I just hear a lot of good things about them.

Thanks makingpots. I might just look into it. I have a wedding to go to at the end of this month so wouldn't mind trying it.

I wear Maybelline loose powder and never use a foundation becaus our temperature here is warm and sometimes so hot, it will be melted in my face if I use foundation. The things that I never forget to wear is a sunblock based moisturizer to avoid the sun effect. I am happy with my skin tone and thank God I never had a problem with my skin, so I am just wearing a loose powder and happy with that so far...

you are smart about the sunblock, especially since you have good skin.

I use mary kay, it's coverage is pretty good without making me look like I'm painted. It doesn't break me out either.

Honey this is bizarre! Just yesterday I wore make up for the first time in a year! lol The last time I wore make up before that was at my nieces wedding and I haven't worn it since for 2 reasons , the first was that I didn't feel up to bothering with make up and the second was that whilst I was recovering from my surgery my daughter borrowed my make up and ruined it all! lol ?She is a lot more careful with her own make up which she has more of than I have ever owned! I have just got together enough make up for a 'face' and tried it out yesterday! My base is Maybelline 'Dream Matte Mousse' which I chose as I like a light natural look! It is really good so light and natural and it felt as though I wasn't wearing any base although it evened out my skin colouring! xxx

Yes, my dear, we must be on the same wave length. :) Niamh, you gotta love her. Makes me smile. Thanks for sharing. I'm always looking for the light natural look, too.

I used to be able to get away with no makeup, but something here about the big city gets my face breaking out all over the place. I think it's the polution. I used to use Clinque, but since I've been networking for my business, I started using Mary Kay. It seems to work just fine and my consultant brings it to me so I don't have to go out an get it. But, I can't use their Timewise products, it makes me break out. I guess I have some sensitive skin.
