How do you clean Pleated Lampshades?

Does anyone have an easy way to clean a pleated lampshade? I clean a house that has one and dust gets in between the pleats, and the pleats get very tight and close toward the top. I tried a microfiber cloth, I tried the vaccuum attachment, a toothbrush...The lady even bought a special brush to use for it, but never gets completely dust free.
