how often do you go to church?

I know the bible says that we should go, but I don't go every time the doors open the way some people do. I don't even always go every Sunday morning. My wife asks me every Sunday if I am going, and I almost feel guilty when I tell her that I don't feel like going sometimes, but sometimes I am sore from doing side jobs and stuff, or just tired from working 6 days a week for weeks at a time. I like to go to church, and I think that going to church is important, but I also think that being able to enjoy yourself while you are there is vital as well. What is the point in going if you are too tired, too sore, or (as has been the case with me for the last couple of weeks) too sick and clogged up from allergy/sinus trouble to be able to pay attention and get anything out of the sermon. It is kind-of hard to get the message if you are dozing off or wiggling around trying to get comfortable with a sore back or trying to breathe (not to mention that the constant sneezing and stuff distracts others as well). I try to go when I can, and when I go, I usually really enjoy it, but I can't see the point in making myself go because someone else expects me to go.

I am regular church goer but these days I have been travelling a lot so I have not been able to go to my church for quite sometime. It's a joy to be part of the community of those who believe in Jesus. And singing and prayer are also a great experience.

Hi golden, I think as believers, it is very important to go to church. We need to have fellowship with other believers. We need to encourage one another in our walk with the Lord. We need to worship Him. We need to serve Him. No, just going to church will not save you. Only knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior will save you. But going to church will help you to maintain your relationship with God. I go to church every Sunday and am very active in the music ministry of the church. I sing in the choir and do lots of solos. God gave me the talent to sing and I love to sing His praises! It is a wonderful feeling to worship the Lord and bless others and be blessed in return. We need church. We need a good Bible-believing church where Christ is the center of it. God bless!

I never go to church unless I have to, it is just something that I have never enjoyed. I have my beliefs, but I believe in my own way and that is enough for me. You should only go because you want to, if you go to please someone else it does not work and you will resent it, it will make you want to go even less. I would never force anyone into doing something if they did not want to and I certainly would not go to church because someone else wanted me too! So do not feel bad for not going, as soon as you do not feel pressured into going you will probably want to go more because you want too.

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..." This Bible command has purpose. It strengthen one who keeps himself in contact with the same faith. It also nourishes one's spirit by listenint to God's words thru sermons.

The Church I belong to isnt exactly held in a church, we actually rent out a space of a clubhouse in an apartment complex in our city we live in. We call it a meeting. Its a time of worship and fellowship, where we sing, read the bible together, and discuss how we apply ourselves in our daily life following Christ. We are a non-denominational congregation. We go every sunday, its a great time to worship. We have 3 nights during the week where we share a meal, fellowship and the good word with other families in our church. If I am sick I wont go to our meeting, or if I have to take care of a sick child we wont go, but if we are healthy enough to be around others you can count on our whole family being there!

I think it is important to go to Church on Sundays, but as you said it is also important to rest. After all Sunday is not just for church , but for rest too. I go to a church which starts little late, at 9, so that I get enough time to sleep. I used to attend a Church that starts early but it was very very difficult to get up early so I moved to another which timing I am more comfortable. I don't know if this will work with you. But I know when we know the church member it's difficult to move along... Sometimes I miss, but now I find it easier to be regular with the Church.

Our family goes to church every Sunday unless we are out of town (then we go to church where ever we are). Very rarely do we not go. We have a great adult sunday school class before church and I look forward to that so much. Actually last week we were talking about this in a way. There are 3 men in the class now that have only started coming to Sunday School in the past year (the would always be in church only, before that). So last week they were saying how much they really enjoy coming and they get a lot out of the class and they didn't know why it took them so long to start coming to Sunday School. Of course there are other people in the church too, who for some reason don't see the value of coming to sunday school. It definately keeps me closer to the Lord. I hope you get well very soon and can get back into that groove of going to church more often. It's no fun to go anywhere when you're not feeling your best.

Since the time I accepted Christ in my heart as Saviour and Lord, I saw to it that I go to Church Building where we meet every Sunday. It is not an obligation but I just want to thank the Lord for starting a church where people are fed from the Word of God. I go to church because I am tired, and weak and wretched, and I need the strength that comes from God! If a person is really a Christian, I guess it is an enjoyment for him to fellowship with other believers, receive instruction from God's Word, and it is only in the church!

My children and I go to church every sunday morning, night, and on wednesday nights. I feel it's very important not only to worship God in our home and to praise Him, but to be around people with the same faith to worship with as well. Plus, our church does a lot of stuff with the kids which i absolutely love, so we love going when we can. God bless

hiya~ let's see....first off,i can answer for me and some other stuff too i thinks... from reading the bible, i realized it doesn't say specificly to 'go to church' it just says to have 'fellowship with other Christians' and church tends to be the easiest place to do so....we're also told to 'keep growing in the grace and knowladge of Christ' and again church tends to be the easiest place for to do that as well don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking church, just saysing that i don't think u have any reason to feel guilty for not making it! i have a nerve disease, so i make church only when i can...usually winds up being 1 or 2 times a month....to keep my fellowship i also help at a local 'faith based' youth center and to help me grow etc., i do devotionals every day! ~j

I rarely go to church. But I always try to go every Sunday morning. except when I'm sick. When I'm absent, honestly I feel different. Empty in the deepest of heart. In big mass, such as Easter Eve, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, White Thursday, I must go to church, cuz it's so essential.
