On the radio today they were talking about Hillary and her decision to run for the US Senate. It seems that there were two state she was considering, New York and Illinois. If she had chosen Illinois, her original home, there would be no Senator Obama today. She chose New York because she would win easier there.

Hmm. I like the thinking and I agree with it somewhat.
If only we had a time machine to do this, or at least a bridge-wormhole (alternate dimension) to see it. It'd be interesting.
I think Obama could have still appeared in the U.S. Senate, but much, much later.

How interesting that would have been if she was the Senator form Illinois. If she had not run in New York Republican would have probably won that seat. Rudy would have stayed in the race. I believe that Rudy stepped out of the race because he thought he might lose. If not Rudy, maybe Rick Lazio would have won. I do know that the Democrat party was searchin for someone to replace Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and did not have any good choices.

I strongly suspect, too, the power structure in Illinois was already ticked at her, and she would not even have gotten the nomination in Illinois. Hillary use to live in Illinois and to know her is to despise her. She had to go where they did not know her well.
Remember, she could have run in Arkansas, too, but did not dare because she was not liked here.
