I find the idea "my applications right in my pocket" way to cool! A growing number of free portable applications are available on the net and with USB flash/pen or what ever you call it drive getting bigger, better and cheaper we could put more into it. Take my Firefox for example: I have heavily customized it, add shortcut buttons, remembered site login, beep up plugin that when I'm on another location all i have to do is plug it in and wala! the same one without missing anything. Isn't that marvelous! Are you into portable apps too?

I have a portable hard disk and its storage is 320GB. It is small and I keep it in my handbag. But I just use it to keep my files. I love China

Nowadays the 2GB-8GB USB drivers are very common. Since mine is a portable hard disk, so it can have a big storage.

I'm behind the times I guess, but I just got a flash pen when I bought a laptop, to move things from my desktop to the laptop. I wouldn't want to be without one now, they're so handy. My daughter and I exchange files (images and text, mainly) and it's so handy to just plug in and there you have it. I read that there is a sort of OS for flash pens, so you could, in theory anyway, carry your entire computer along with you, only plugging in for the power, monitor and keyboard. The future will be interesting!

Hi Peavey, I too feel uncomfortable if my USB is not with me. For OS, there is MAC, Linux and for windows; do you think it will lag with these two.) Cell phones these days are more and more taking the form of PC and much more. Thank you for your time.

I agree about the cellphones. Between cellphones, PDA's, PC's and VoiP, etc., I don't think it will be long before everyone has just one appliance that covers all applications. You'll be able to call your Mom, email your boss, read the news and store your kid's graduation pictures all on the same thing. You can now, really, but can't carry it around in your pocket easily. I don't know about the OS they're working on, but it would be nice to be able to choose.
