To what extent can you endure Suffering and Pain for Happiness?

The movie Pursuit of Happiness was one of those unforgettable movies I've watched that really touched my heart and soul as a human being. It reminds me of how great the love of Will Smith has for his son that he is willing to take the risk of becoming a trainee for 6 months without any compensation at all. How he find ways to survive and overcome their daily predicament. To endure all these sufferings because of his faith in what little chance he has to be able to achieve true and lasting happiness for the two of them. I wonder, If I am in the same situation as the character in the story, will I be able to do the same thing that he did or stay instead in the job I had which compensates at least our needs even though offers no assurance of acquiring a better future? There are a lot of individuals out there looking for that HAPPINESS that could give them True and Lasting Contentment in life. Finding so many ways to attain it...yet, seemed so difficult to achieve.. As a mother, I love my children so much.. that I could attest even right now that I would do anything and risk anything if that ever happens, just to protect them from harm and provide them the future they deserve.
