Does your cat make weird/silly noises?

One of my cats makes a quacking noise sometimes, and another one has a meow that sounds more like a bird's chirp. It's funny and weirdly adorable to me that they make such odd noises. I think it shows animals can be just as quirky and individual as humans. Does your cat make noises unusual for a cat or have a strange "voice"? What do you think of this behavior?

One of my cats makes a good few different noises, I'm not sure if it's her breed of cat or if she's just a bit crazy but it's very funny to hear! Sometimes when i pick her up she meows with a sound like she was getting a jet of water into her mouth. But that's just the start of it! Sometimes when i call her name (Her name was Anne, but I renamed her Pink lol) she makes what sounds like a barking noise! The first time I heard it I was shocked! And just this morning when she came in to wake me up, her purring was in about 6-8 different noises; not just tones, but different sounds itself!

She barks when you call her? Ha, maybe she has an identity crisis. I've never heard a cat make different purring noises though. Those both sound like they're cute though. I love cats that are slightly crazy.

lol - Annie Freedomfight3r! She responds to both names, and being a weegie, they tend to make all kinds of noises like the mainecoons.

Well I don't know that you would call it weird or silly. My cat is a very big cat and when he meows it sounds like a kitten. Especially if he is crying. If he is crying he will draw his meow out really long. It is so funny because he is such a big cat and all you hear is this little meow. When he cries is like "mmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwww" but really low. I think its funny.

How cute! When I was a kid my family also had a big cat with a tiny voice. He would try and get your attention sometimes by making little squeaks. It was really amusing.

My mad cat Moomin will happily sit and chat to me, making all sorts of strange little noises from a quiet little mew to a full on yowl.

One of my cats "talks" too, responding to my words with different noises. (I think Moomin is a great name for a cat, by the way!)

My cat makes different noises depending on what he's doing. He will do the traditional meow of course when he's wanting my attention, or kind of "sass" me. When he's upset, he makes a very low growling type of noise. When he's outside stalking a bird he makes the "chirp" noise. It's kind of cute, but he's clueless in thinking that he's actually going to pounce on one of the birds.

I've never heard of a cat doing that while sneaking up on birds. That must be fun to watch, heh.

I have a kitten that I named "Mimsy" but my boyfriend wanted to name "Trumpet" because when she is sleeping she purrs, snores and whistles through her nose all at the same time. When she is content she also makes a noise that sounds like farts coming from her throat before or while she is purring. SHe hardly ever meows except when she feels threatened and then it sounds like a baby crying. I have had cats make strange sounds before, but hers are completely different from any other cat other than a strange giant yeti-like creature who is a Norwegian forest cat named "Max": he snored to but drooled while he did it. Mimsy was abandonned by a jerk that my boyfriend knows so I am not certain of her breed, but her fur feels more like hair (baby hair) and is long and silky with a huge tail. She also has fur between her toes and is exceptionally long for a 6 month old kitten. Could she be a Forest cat as well?
