MyLot makes it clear that we're not just paid by the number of posts we write, but also for their length and quality. Taking this to its logical extreme, it should be possible to write a very long and detailed post that's worth a full $10, leading you to instant payout. What do you think, can it be done?

I doubt it. We don't know how our earnings are calculated but writing one long post would not be the right way because you need to be active to earn money at myLot. You need to build a good reputation. I think you need to show you can write consistently good responses, as well as starting good discussions, commenting, rating, making friends, adding images etc. Then you can expect better earnings.

Let's give it a go shall we? I am currently only on 14cents, having only just joined yesterday, but I want to make the most of the weekend off work and am spending a few hours in front of the PC today to try and rack up some points. It is a good thing that mylot reward with cash, since other sights give rewards in vouchers. I was on another site (UK only) which does lot of market research (toluna) and they reward with vouchers for Sainsburys, HMV etc. But you have to reach about 30000 points before you get a voucher for £5. You can reach a certain level of points by completing a number of surveys, and a bundle of sponsored polls, but then after that you need to put in a lot of time writing opinions on topics. The downside is that you have to write at least 80 words in order to get 100 points. The points are not added straight away, they are allowed to accummulate and are only added to your total every two weeks or so. Additionally, whenever market research surveys come up, you can note your interest in completing the survey. It usually will give you a few thousand points towards your total. However, so far I have registered for all surveys but have not been chosen to complete any. I think I must fall outside of their target market. Perhaps people who live in London will be chosen more often, it does sometimes seem the way. Another thing they do on this site, is provide new products to be sampled. Again you have to register your interest in the product, and they are supposed to post it to you. You try it out and then provide feedback of what you thought. So far, I have not received any products. And another thing, the topics on which you can write opinions are not that varied. Some of the questions are really stupid, or only require a yes or no answer. There are absolutely loads of topics on mylot about which to write, and they have it geared up so you can easily sort out the things which you are interested in, and want to express your opinion on. You also get rewarded for using photos, but Im still in the process of working that part out. I have managed to upload a photo for my own profile and one or two for discussions, but I want to use different photos and need to know where to find them. I'm sure there will be lots of people responding to your excellent choice of discussion, so I don't want to hog the page. One thought before I go though, I imagine that there will be a limit as to the number of characters which can be typed into this text box. It will be interesting to see if anyone reaches that limit. Once again, great topic for discussion :)

Would have been better if your broke your response down into paragraphs. I read somewhere that MyLot takes into consideration spelling, grammar, and formatting. Plus it would have been easier to read for all of us.

OK thank you. I have noted your comments. I will try to pay more attentions to these points in the future. I did not realise that such things as grammar and formatting were considered. We tend to live in an age where text messaging and emailing have eroded our English. I am interested to see whether or not I receive credit for the length alone of my response. Thank you again for your feedback.

I do not think taht Mylot will pay 10$ for a very long discussion. i guess if anyone tries to post a very very long one, there must be a limitation to what we can post.whatever may be i doubt a long enough discussion to get paud 10$ for it. you can try and convey us what happened to it.

You know what, I believe that its totally possible. But it would have to be a good quality ten page report that you are posting. It would also have to attract a lot of readers, which may knock itself out of the box because a lot of people won't read extremely long posts. The spelling, grammar, and formatting would have to be impeccable, and the paragraphs would have to be spaced out to make things more readable. Yes, I do believe this is possible, but it would have to take a lot of hard work to do so.

Wow, I didn't realize that the length of the post counted. Hmmm...interesting. Honestly, I don't think it's possible or that they would give someone $10 for one post but stranger things have happened, so, you never know....

oh my no I do not think so as that would take up an immense amount of time and I doubt that they would like to pay that wasy but that is only my own opinion for whatever that is worth.
