wildlife - can you watch an animal kill

I am a huge animal lover. But I cannot bring myself to watch an animal kill another animal OR an animal been killed by a human OR an animal been video'd going near a trap of some sort. It stresses me up like nothing else! If anything comes on tv regarding this, my family change the channel or ask me to leave the room. Am I weird or are there other people out there like me?

No you are not the only one. I am exactly the same way. My sister watches animal planet all the time. I watch it with her sometimes but like you if they are going to be hurt or killed I have to leave the room. I cannot stand it. It makes me sick and queasy to my stomach. I literally cannot watch it.

I enjoy animal planet myself, but won't watch a killing even if its a predator doing so to survive. I love watching animal cops etc. It has me in tears seeing how animals are found, but I have to watch the rehabilitation process to ease my mind that, that animal was given a 2nd chance!.

You are not weird because you care about nature. I care about mature too but I can watch animals being able to live (by killing other animals that reproduce fast enough to cause starvation to themselves if not kept in check). We (as humans) are the ones that upset this balance of nature more than any other species. I raise tropical fish and realize that I cannot keep all f the baby fish alive with out compromising the health and welfare of all of the fish in the tanks that they are in. I will keep only a portion of the young so that they will have the best chance of growing in good health.

I understand that in the wild a predator will kill to survive, but I still cannot watch the kill. As soon as I see the predator charging i remove myself from the tv or the channel is changed.
The portion of fish you do not keep...what do you do with them?????

you're not weird. i think most of the animal lovers including me doesn't want to see get animals killed in a merciless way
