Well, I was very sad to see Barnsley exit their F.A. Cup run after their semi-final game with Cardiff. They fought and won against two of the top Premier teams in the country, in Liverpool and Chelsea and I was really rooting for them to get at least to the final.
Let's not take it away from Cardiff though. They did well to beat such a spirited team, and my congratulations go out to them. As I live in the neighbouring county, Portsmouth should be my favourites to win the F.A. Cup, but as I tend to go for the underdogs, I quite hope Cardiff get to lift the trophy.
What are your feelings on the way Barnsley and Cardiff fought their way into the semi-finals? Who do you support and which team would you like to see lift the trophy? I'm quite happy that the "usual" teams to reach all the finals, have had to take a back seat this year. Come on the Underdogs!!!

It's not the first time that outsiders reach the high stages of the FA Cup, I think it makes the beauty of this competition.
Barnsley fought bravely, but Cardiff deserved to qualify.
I believe Portsmouth will win the trophy this year. And if Portsmouth qualify to the UEFA Cup from the 6th position in the Premiership, we'll see Cardiff playing in the European cups too!

Don't I know it. I was at Wembley with Jimmy Melia's, Brighton and Hove Albion, when they were 2-0 ahead at half time, managed to keep Manchester United to a draw, and only just missed out on the winning goal. They forced a replay!!!
Then, in 1976, there was Southampton, with that one Bobby Stokes goal winning them the trophy over Manchester United.
I could name so many, but they're not really relevant to the discussion. Barnsley, I thought, deserved to get to the final more than Cardiff, because they had a harder route, and knocked two giants out in consecutive rounds, those being Liverpool and Chelsea. I was so sad to see them go out because I thought they'd battled so very hard and taken the game to both of the Premier top teams. Portsmouth knocked out Manchester United, so I felt a Portsmouth v Barnsley final would have been terrific. Cardiff are ok, but I have to lean towards Barnsley for those reasons. I didn't see their semi-final... all I know is that one goal stood throughout almost the whole game, so it didn't sound too exciting.
I agree, I think Portsmouth will win the trophy now. They're on a high now, and not about to land just yet. Not until they have the trophy in their hands.
Hark at me... I'm a Leeds supporter and my team is really struggling to stay in the play off position right now, but football's a funny old game, and you don't know until the end who's going to do what and when.
Thank you for your contribution, my friend and Brightest Blessings.
