To feel lonely is inevitable..i believe it's normal for us human beings to feel sad at times...but how do you cope with it?
When i feel sad, i wanted to listen to music while getting myself busy with any task at home or in the office. kind of diversion tactics so i would be able to forget the source of my loneliness.
But if i am really really sad or depressed, i cry.... sort of catharsis for me to release any burden i'm feeling at the moment.

I also come on here when I feel lonely, I sometimes crave adult company especially when I am on my own all day, my hubby works all day and the children are in school and it is just me and my 2 year old daughter. We do not have any friends to go and visit so it gets a little lonely at times, but an hour on here just takes it away. I do not cry, although I get really sad at times.

we both are in the same situation, my hubby works all the time, and i'm left at home with my 2 kids who are 3 and 4 yrs old. by june my eldest will start preschool and all that will be left is me and my little boy..though i love what i'm doing right now as a homemaker, i couldn't avoid to feel sad at times that's why aside from sending sms to my sister, i just sit in front of my pc and surf or do mylot.

i used to drink to stop the loneliness, but i have since stopped drinking.
It's hard as i feel even more isolated now, although i live with my parents i am still lonely. Especially because of my old drinking habits. They could never understand why i had to do it.
I am out of work at the moment due to the depression i am suffering with. I am finding company and support from mylot. I know if you busy you can't always spend time on here talking but it does help. At least it will give you something to look forward to.
Also during the day you can think of some really good posts to put on here for all of us to read. That way you will be ehlping other people aswell. Keep talking it's great.
The other thing that i use to stop being lonely is i love crafts and while i'm knitting or making cards takes my mind off where i am and how bad things can be. I find some music for me can make me feel worse. Especially if it reminds me of good times rather than the bad times. Pick your music wisely.
Take Care and keep coming back to here

i understand and that's good for you to at least find other alternatives like mylot and crafts in order to feel better and fight depression...all of us are susceptible to a melancholic mood at times and finding constructive ways to cope with it is a good start of a healthy living... :)

yeah, people do have different ways of coping with loneliness. some maybe into listening to music (like me.) or find someone to chitchat with, and there are also some people who just want to be alone and spare the mood to themselves as this would make them feel more better..
thanks for responding..have a nice day!!

I am on Mylot to keep the loneliness at bay and it works as I am thinking of other people not myself and I am busy responding too.doing something to occupy yourself is a good antidote for loneliness too. I listen to music at times to peaceify myself and again come back to do mylotting. Thinkingof others is a great way to quell loneliness.
