Dad Says 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin Concealed 'Pain and Suffering' Behind Public Persona Late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin concealed pain and suffering behind his enthusiastic public persona, his father said in an interview broadcast Monday. In the Australian Broadcasting Corp. interview, Bob Irwin, 68, said audiences failed to realize how much pain his khaki-clad son masked during his public performances. He gave no details of the reasons for his son's private suffering. "People don't realize just how much he gave of himself," his father said. "He was always very good in front of the media, and a lot of the pain and the suffering didn't show through." Steve was always smiling, full of fun and bringing nature into everyone's front room. He was wonderful and I am sure he (like everyone else) had his days when all he wanted to do was curl up with a good book. I hope the Dad doesn't 'reveal' any more secrets as Terri must be going through enough as it is. And I certainly don't want to hear anything about their 'dirty laundry', I want to believe in the persona that he projected for himself. Why destroy that if he worked so hard to hide his pain from his public? Oh why does everyone want their 5mins of fame?

I don't want to hear the dirty laundry either. Seems to me like his dad is trying to ruin his reputation and that just isn't fair to Terri or the kids. They have been through a lot and still are going through it, so the dad should back off if you ask me.
