Hi friends, any tech guy here.. I have a domain with Win2000 Advanced Server installed. I want to manage active directory users & computers from client pc(Windows XP installed)inside my network. While going through various resources,i would not able to manage the AD from Windows XP machine. Sometimes it gives, SnapIn initilization filed.. like so & so. Does anybody have any exact idea how to configure AD users & computer in a windows xp machine for Windows 2000 Advanced Server doamin. Thanking in advance..

Well one way is by using remote desktop. you have to have the correct service running on the Server and the proper client to connect with the client computer. Second is by using the Windows Management Interface (WMI) I have not used it or set that up myself but you can control the computer remotely. Or there are any number of programs to use to access the server remotely, i.e. PC Anywhere, VNC, etc I prefer remote desktop as that uses the windows security and logins that are all ready setup.

Thanks a lot for veru useful informatons. I have noted down the programs you have mentioned i will give it a try. Anyway i am not bothered with the remote adminstrating the sytems, however i want to use Active Directory Users and Computer management from my Windows XP Client machine, so that incase server failure, i can manage my user activities.
