I recieved a letter through the post the other day from a company called " Tower Investigations Ltd ". the letter goes " Dear Mr !"£%^%&*. We act on behalf of a client and would be obliged if you could telephone us on freephone 0800 877 8764 in order to assist our enquiry. yours sincerly tower investigation ltd "... notice no name underneath the scribble of a signature. On the top right hand corner there are bullet headings * Private Investigators * Survelliance Specialists * Genealogical Experts The first 2 titles are self explanatory but the 3rd one I had no idea what that was so I looked it up on google and it is something to do with family trees. This got me wondering who would want to find/spy/trace me so I rang the company but couldn't get through. I looked on the companies web site just to see if I could find out more about the possible cause of the letter. When searching the companies name I noticed a disscusion about aid company in a search below and looked at it. Apparently this company have sent exactly the same letter out to a load of people who have talked about it on a forum. They bring up points like, there is no refernece to any clients name, no name on the signature, very basic web site, and my feelings that the letter is on extremely cheap paper and there is no colour on the letter. Its just black and white which I find odd as most companies I have dealt with usually have a colourfull banner of some sort. Some lucky fella got through to this company and he was asked for security details, may not seem strange but read on. They were trying to trace someone with the same name who once lived in his street. The operator was rather rude refering to the man as " mate ". If you was to get one of these letters and intend to ring them then ring from a payphone as its an 0800 number and do not give any details apart from what are on the letter such as name and reference number as they could be trying to get security details from you for a scam. May all be innoncent but you never know anymore with the amount of identity theft going on. Has anybody had one of these also and did you get through, was it all innoncent ????????
