Yahoo Mail numbers are wrong?

For the last few weeks I have been receiving some discrepancies in the number of emails Yahoo is reporting. On My Yahoo the personal assistant is saying that I have a certain number of emails (like 22 today) but when I click on the mail module the actual number of emails is vastly different (like 6 today). If you count the saved and bulk mails it only adds about 3 or 4 more. I opened a ticket at the help desk and asked them why such a difference. I did explain, in detail. that since I had already dealt with today's mail the problem could not be reproduced today but happens every day and will happen again tomorrow. They emailed me back saying that they investigated and there is nothing wrong. That the email is working correctly. If this is true then where are the emails between 6 and 22? Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Oh yes, yahoo mail has been messing up. For more than a week I had one folder that said it had an email in it but it surely did not. The folder had NOTHING in it, nothing read, nothing unread - it was empty. I'd open it anyway and have a look, see it was empty, then close it and sure enough that bold 1 would pop right back up. It righted itself then did it again a few days later, and yesterday my regular inbox did the same thing, but it lasted less than the full day there. Everything seems to be fine this morning (for now, anyway).

Wish they would at least admit to it. But noooo. My concern is what if the numbers are correct? Where are these emails that aren't there? I am hoping that just the numbers are wrong and that the emails are not missing. Thank goodness I have a Gmail account for my friends and account notifications. That one seems to always be fine.
