Remember Salman Rushdie of the satanic verses fame?well he is in the news again confessing that he pretended “to embrace islam”in the hope that it would reduce the threat of muslims acting on the 1989 fatwa to kill him way back in 1990.He more like regretted making the comment. This made me to wonder if anything will really make me deny my believe.will you deny your faith for any reasons?

I'll never ever betray my faith.
It is depends on a person that which faith appeals to his heart.

Yes I absolutely agree with you. We should never try to force someone to believe what you want them to believe. They will instead hate you and your beliefs.

yes i never believe in putting force on people especially in the area of beliefs,i know that when people see that your faith is working for you, others will ask you how you are going about things and then you can introduce them to whatever it is you do that works in your faith and in that way you can get anyone to try what yopu believe and if it works for them too obviously they will tell others too

Look at what christianity did during the crusades. Thousands of people were told to confess Jesus or die. They confessed Jesus just to live. I find it hard to believe that I would easily deny the existence of God because someone threatened me.

Inside of my head, no matter what I have to say to appease the society I live in, I will always believe in Jesus Christ. However, if we become a nation that shoots Christians or something like that, I might be tempted to deny my faith, however I hope I will not yield to temptation and will stand up against oppressive people.

i love your straight sincere answer.most of the time we find it easy to say certain things but when it comes to doing them we have problems ,i pray that you will stand firm even when there is so much temptation to deny ,that is what i always pray for that in the face of any kind of temptation may i have every reason to stand firm and i say the same prayers fr you now even as i respond to this

It depends. if something is logical and spiritual that make us think that we are not on the right track then one must think on it because blindly follow your believes is not wisdom

i need to say you may be right and wrong at the same time, first because when it comes to our spiritual believes, there are things that are simply unbelieveable and dont make sense at all but works, like for example in christianity the issue of the fatherhood of jesus,it doesnt make sense to the normal person but it works ,also the issue of healing, some of the things do not make sense but the bible also makes it clear that "the fooishness of God is beyond even human understanding"also it says "God uses the stupid things of this world to confound even the wise"so sometimes for you to really experience some levels of results in your spiritual life there is a need for a level of stupidity but not "dogmatism"sometimes logic does not work in such matters but simple faith which is above beliefs
