Guys I just want to know the anti-virus that you are using in your computer. I am using AVG FREE anti-virus for my personal computer and it works fine. Of course there are some malicious software that cannot be detected by AVG Free. Nonetheless, I have some sort of protection on my PC. Anyone out there can share your thoughts regarding anti-virus and which one is the best.

I am using Avast! Home Edition, which is a free version. There will never be a so-called total protection from antivirus programs, especially the free ones. The commercial ones usually provide more features and protection... While most people would disagree, the latest Norton Antivirus 2008 is much better than its previous versions and offers better protection than some others like Mcafee.. If I were to recommend, it would have to be Norton Antivirus 2008....though its not free. But since you are using AVG Free antivirus, I think you can just stick with it unless you want to pay for Norton. Most important is not what antivirus software you have installed, but which websites you visit or suspicious email you opened that might get your system infected with viruses..

I used to like Norton, but it uses way too much memory (RAM) and too much space (hard drive). To me, I believe Avast or AVG and then Comondo Firewall, Spybot Search and Destroy are good ideas to have on the computer also Pablo

Yes, I totally agree. The OLD Norton is bloated and takes up a lot of memory.... However, the new Norton has made lots of improvements....If you have used the new version, you can see the differences...

I am using the AVG free anti-virus. I was using the Antivir one and for some reason I put in a combination browser, email client that took over everything and deleted many of the programs in my Compac Presario including java and the controls to my Antivir. So I had to get the AVG and I hope it has improved since I had a few years ago. I used to use Norton, but do not like paying for things every year. This one works fine for now. Anyway if you are wanting to buy a computer, do not get a Compac Presario.

I use AVG Free because the over virus scanners are too slow. I also use Comondo Firewall Pro (it's also free). I believe AVG is very good. I use Spybot Search And Destroy and Webroot's Spy Sweeper with Anti-virus Scan...These programs are all good. Pablo

i think that the one i am using is called avast or something liek that i can't download a lot because my computer isn't much good and it doesn't have a lot of memory on it so anlmost anything that i try to download it doesn't do it right so i am left just having to un install it...i really like it though...it does what it is suppose to do and it doesn't slow my computer down or anything jhl930

I want a raise - The guy wants a raise from his boss but I doubt he'll get it.
Don't know which is best to be honest. I am currently using Zone Alarms. I actually have the Security Suite which protects the whole computer on all different levels. I have to say it works really well because I have never had a problem when using it or become affected by any viruses, trojans, malware, spyware, ect. I've been using it for over a year now. I hope it proves me right and is worth it. It sure seems to be.

i advice you...the best solution is kaspersky internet-security 6.0 or 7.0 ... it blocks hackers,spam...has a new firewall better than the windows has...has a proactive defense, self defense :) mail antivirus, web antivirus and a lot of other things...you just have to enable them if you need those protections ;) and i think that those are critical nowadays...so good luck in having one, oh there would be a problem with it, if you have a slow PC it will run slower 'cause it eats a little bit of your ram more than other antiviruses, but you at least know that you're safe! ;)

We used kaspersky antivirus. So far so good! It can block softwares or downloads if it contains malicious content. Also, it can detect your network settings as well like if you plug a new network or a router in the network and tries to access it, it will promp you if you want to proceed. You can also put a password there so that the settings will not be changed. It's pretty cool!
