cockatiel vs buggie

I have had my cockatiel for almost 2 years, around 2 weeks ago I got a baby buggie and the brat won't stop chasing my cockatiel when ever they are both out of there cages, and now the buggie has started trying to steal my cockatiels cage which is bigger then its own, the thing is my cockatiel could easily kill the buggie if she wanted but she just seems to let it happen and I need to find a way to stop it before she changes her mind. does anyone know a way of stopping the buggie chasing the cockatiel with out keeping either one of them locked up?

I have a cockatiel and a budgie. My budgie thinks she is the boss aswell. When I let her out she goes straight for the cockatiels cage and starts teasing the cockatiel. It may be play, but if beaks and claws are involved get worried. My birds are serperated and at no time are together except when they are out of the cage for they do their own thing.

That's odd, when we first introduced a budgie to our cockatiel it was the cockatiel chasing the budgie around. He didn't even let the budgie near the food dish. We dealt with that by having two food dishes. We put a peacock feather by one of them since our cockatiel was afraid of that feather. As for your issue. Both birds can be very territorial. Cockatiels by nature are more flight than fight so they are easily bullied. What you need is neutral ground. Bring them to a room that they are both somewhat unfamiliar with, put them on the ground together with some toys, and see if they can get along. That's what worked to make our cockatiel and budgie into friends. Eventually the cockatiel was better about sharing a cage, and even started preening the budgie.
