question about spyware

i did some spyware buster things that were suppose to find and get rid of spyware and they said that they found some and to quarintine(dont know if thats spelled right or not)to click a button or something like that nd they would do it for me...and i did that...and it said that it got rid of them or so i thought...and then there has been these two screens that have been popping up that says something about spyware has been detected and is a serious threat... what do you think i should do... jhl930

Hi, once you get infected I think the best thing to do is save your files on cd', dvd's or on an external drive, format your hard disk and reinstall windows and everything else that you need. If you try to get rid of the spyware or the virus you will only be wasting your time!! I recommend you install avg and keep checking your drive for viruses, and always have your internet to block pop-ups

make sure you are using a trusted anti-spyware program because there are many fake anti-spyware programs that simply show pop ups saying that you are infected and then you have to buy a full versions of program in order to remove them. Use programs such as Windows Defender, Webroot Spy Sweeper or PCTools Spyware Doctor. also make sure you update them frequently with the latest definitions.

Which anti-spyware software are you using. I have used spyware doctor, but now am using spybot. First of all it is freeware, and it has some extra features too like process list ans startup management and stuff like that. Try it you will like it.
